I am a newbie, but an experienced gardener and have spent lots of time getting my room together and the proper setup. Now that the room is about ready to go, I have a question I cannot seem to find a good answer to....
Since I have not grown this before, I have read enough to understand a soil based grow medium may be my best bet to start.
So to make it easy, I could use for example kindsoil and FFOF and just water.
BUT --
I am starting from regular seeds. I know the genetics and I expect good germination, but what happens if I use Kindsoil and then half end up being male? What do I do with all the pots of soil that had males? I guess I can recycle for the next grow....or
I see using FFOF and then their basic 3 part liquid nutrients may be a cheaper way to do this...if half are male, i have a bunch of FFOF to recycle or just reuse for the next grow. I understand this to be relatively easy like a kindsoil product but requires a bit more care and potentially flushing several times through the grow.
The last thing I try to be is a know it all...I readily admit im new to this plant (as a grower ), and cant figure the "right" way to do this with a reasonably good result and not have a lot of waste.
Im sure this was covered somewhere, but Ive searched and read many places and cant find this specific question being addressed. I am not lazy and just asking without searching first....I really havent seen this discussion.
Im fine getting some feminized seeds at a later date, but have some fine genetics Id like to try. I know feminized seeds are relatively new, so most here know the answer to my question...and I would greatly appreciate some direction.
Room is roughly 5 x 7x 6...5 x5 will be a flower area for now, I have 2 slate 6 each with 4 hlg qb288 v1 3500k and each has a 320 meanwell.
Thanks in advance for help
A second question would be opinions of how much or little LST I can try for my first few grows...is manifolding too ambitious?
Cheers and thank you,
