Want to switch lights during flower?

Hello Community,

I would like to switch my light from an Aglex 2000W LED for a 630W HID DEBulb. The problem is my babies are 4 weeks into flower does anyone see an issue with this? They are grown in soil and I am trying to make them single cola.

Go for it. You’ll harvest a lot more. In this case I would suggest start with 10 hours lights on for a few days because of light intensity. You don’t want a reveg or especially a hermie. Then 11 etc. to avoid stress. This might be totally unnecessary but it’s what I would do.

What is the sq footage? You are going from 400 watts to 600. If you’re at like 40-50 watts per sqft. I’d be tempted to hang with the LED and change for the next grow. Like Hotrod said be careful with the transition if you decide to change. Hang in really high, dim it down if you can and shorten the light schedule. The plant has adapted its growth and cuticle development which the protective exterior leaf layer to the light spectrum of the Agrlex. They will probably need time to adjust. Hopefully that doesn’t include burning.

They are gonna really blow up when they get the much more light. They may start to show deficiencies if they are getting just enough to eat now so be ready to up the feed. Just hang the light high and ease it down over the first few days. They will be fine, lot tougher than you think.

The change in lumens for that switch. Will not result in damaged plants. Be sure to keep the new lamp at least 14 inch's from the canopy...

NOTE: I know some of you are thinking - "lumens are not a good way to meter light energy."

It's weird I tested the Aglex 2000W lux at 18" was 75000 where as my 630W DE HID was around 40000 at 24 inch cause of heat. My grow tent is a 5 x 5 but I am only using 4x4 of it for flowering the other 1x1 is used for equipment like fans.
