gonna try to grow some shrooms

just ordered two syringes of "burma" strain shrooms... been looking into it and figured it cant be any harder than growing weed. probably gonna be going with the pf tek, but am open to other ideas.... any tips/pointers before i get started???

go to shroomery.org and search either "PF Tek" or "Magic Mushrooms Grower Guide". They are both fairly useful guides and getting the basic idea of what needs to happen and in what stages. You can always tweak the guides to better suit your operation, but either way they point you in the right direction. They take maybe 15-30 minutes to read and answer A LOT of newbie questions.

Be as clean as possible...I think growing weed is easier than growing mushrooms. But if you follow the directions and have a little sense than you'll be fine and everything will go swimmingly. haha

I've grown mushies in the past and am currently investigating an indoor cannabis grow. Mushies are MUCH easier. Basically it's mix up your media (brown rice /vermiculite/water), stuff in pint canning jars (loosely) , add a layer of vermiculite to the top, sterilize in pressure cooker, let cool, innoculate with sterile spore solution and set in dark warm place to allow the jars to colonize completely. Once mycelia has fully colonized the jars place them in a cooler 90% plus humid environment with a little light (tells em to grow UP). Uh, I mean only put the colonized cake into the humid environment. Wait. Pick.

As Mr.Harvey stated, cleanliness is crucial to success. In other words Lysol till you gag.

i may yet be proven wrong, but i believe shrooms are gonna be eisier than weed also.... seems almost foolproof if you follow the cleanliness parameters... we will see in about 8wks right? i've pretty much read everything that the shroomery has to offer, and think i have a pretty good grasp on the process.... just gonna try, experiment, and hope for the best... if it dont work this time... spores are cheap

got my spores in the mail today... didnt realize it when i ordered, but they were/are running a special where they double your spore order; so i got 4 syringes instead of 2.... now i'll get my jars and such this weekend and go from there


i couldnt resist myself... since i got twice as much as i expected, i went ahead and squirted a 1/2cc into my compost pile... i doubt it will do anything, but at least then i'll know for sure
