Hey everyone I know this may be a basic question but I’m always looking for more efficient ways to do things. So currently I have a trellis on my plants in a 2x4 grow tent but I water my plants in my bathtub so water doesn’t get everywhere and can drain. (I let them sit in the tub for about 30 minutes draining and then I put them back in the tent). This requires me to constantly remove them from the trellis and them put them back and reposition them.
As they get larger this will become difficult as I’m not going to be able to easily move the plants from under the trellis that they’re gonna be growing into. Plus I don’t want to always disturb them and be bumping leaves around etc as They’re budding more now. Is there a better way to water in a tent with a trellis without having to remove plants from the tent?
idea 1 : just use a lot less water when watering so that there is minimum runoff on the tent floor. This might require more frequent watering but seems best. Only problem I can think of is when it comes to needing to flush the plants.
Idea 2: place a tote inside the tent and then place the plant buckets inside the tote. That way I can water without worrying about run off and spillage. The trade off is that there will be stagnant water in the tote which could lead to overwatering issues and a rise in humidity levels I would think. I know with the heat from the light would probably cause evaporation but it would probably be slow.
if any of you use a trellis net in a grow tent, how do you water your plants? This isn’t a topic that’s touched on at all when I do searches and it should be explored.
