This is exactly why the market is what it is. For the most part the market doesn't want an assortment of stable, worked strains. They want the cut du jour. Most growers can't get that so they want what they perceive as the next best thing, a cross made with the cut du jour. By the time you stabilize and test anything the train has left the station and you'll be stuck with a bunch of gear hardly anybody wants. That's why almost every breeder is chuckin'
Once legalization spreads everywhere and growers are be able to get cuts the market for seeds is going to change dramatically. Then you'll get your stable strains from the remaining breeders because chucking won't pay any more. Except for a few lucky survivors, the best/only way to make money breeding will be to get hired as a breeder for a big producer. That's whats going to happen, the most popular and cup winning strains will be proprietary with no seeds or cuts available.
