I oppose Trump, that's why I support impeachment hearings. You don't support impeachment hearings because Pelosi doesn't and you support Pelosi because you're both moderates

You support Trump by mindlessly repeating his right wing propaganda. You support Trump by your talk of impeachment too. Trump wants those impeachment hearings, derp.

There is no way he will get re-elected. I don’t really think he wants to be re elected. It’s all a joke to him. I think people will vote in any democrat President in over him at this point. Who could possibly stand another 4 years of his bullshit rhetoric. How can we possibly continue as a country with a reality talk show host for casting the political landscape of this country and the world? So when our New Democratic President is elected and weed gets legalized we will all kick back and take a deep breath and start the healing process together after living through this painful Trump era. I’m am so looking forward to that day, the healing of our nation together and the historical moment of marijuana legalization.

I dont support impeachment yet either. Trump/Putin/MBS's troll puppets are pushing hard for this because it is in their best interest. The jig is up, and if Trump forces impeachment he gets 'exonerated' in the senate, runs again and uses this across the country to whipping up hate and knows there is nothing stopping the foreign trolls from infecting our country with false bullshit that is designed to make it impossible to talk about anything important without getting distracted.

For what must be the 100th time:

If Congress votes to impeach, it goes to the Senate for a trial.

Mitch McConnell will circle the wagons and actually EXONERATE Trump.

That is why Trump wants to be impeached and practically dares Congress to do so.

Trump knows he will be exonerated by the Senate and walk away a free man for everything he's done as President.

Pelosi knows this as well, which is why she is refusing to impeach.

She wants him to lose the election to a Democrat and then face the full legal wrath of the federal government.

I would add that if he does get re-elected, they have the option to impeach in 2nd term too.
True. And add to that it's possible for Democrats to pick up a few seats and then they have both houses.

It's not going to be enough to throw him out of office, but it will effectively end his presidency.

Pelosi could slow walk impeachment and get the info out to the public without sending it to the senate for trial. The house does the investigation and the senate the trial. The risk of waiting till after the election is what if tRUmp and Putin manage to rig the election again and literally steal it,lots of new hackable voting systems are being added daily to the election system.

I think he's going to do his utmost to turn the tables on the majority who oppose him or dispprove of his presidency. Agree that he's not trying to appeal to us. His efforts to affect the census, his party's voter suppression laws, and the waves of propaganda put out by right wing media. indicate that his strategy is to win a strategic votes, not a majority. GOP is Trump's party now. His party has abandoned the concept of majority rule. They just want to rule.

Yes, they are trying to steal another election. I don't see how impeachment with exoneration in the Senate can do anything other than help them do that.

No. She can't.

All she can do is call for a vote. That's it. The house of representatives has nothing to do with hearings and trials on impeachment. All they do is vote yes or no. If they vote yes, impeachment begins officially.

The Senate takes over from there.

Bill Clinton was impeached in 1998, and exonerated by the Senate in Jan, 1999. The Democrats lost the next presidential election to George W. Bush. Compare all the shit Trump has done to what Bill Clinton did to get impeached..

The House could hold impeachments proceedings against Trump, the Senate could exonerate him, and the Republican party could still lose the election in 2020. The idea that if the Senate exonerated him, which they likely would, would only be good for Trump or the Republican party holds no historical basis in reality. Exactly the opposite is true

Well how does the house determine if there is even enough evidence to take a vote on impeachment without being able to investigate. According to you the house has no power what so ever.

The House levies impeachment charges, then the impeachment investigation begins. There is beyond enough evidence, right now, to levy impeachment charges against Trump.

The standard to levy impeachment charges is not too particularly high and is completely irrelevant. Impeaching him on weak evidence does nothing good for the country or the political situation and might make things worse.

Ok Mr. intellectually dishonest. But the midterms that happened shortly after the impeachment was initiated were a disaster for Republicans. Rarely does the party in power gain in the midterms. The typical number of House seats lost in the midterms is 26-30. Democrats gained 4 seats and it is generally understood to be a lashback over the Republican impeachment of Clinton.

Clinton did not win in 2000 because he was not running due to term limitations. If that had not been the case, he likely would have won.

I would say that a lame duck President gaining seats in a midterm election in the middle of an impeachment directly disproves your claim that "Exactly the opposite is true."

*sigh*

That is what they have already done and continue to do. You don't just "make up" an impeachment vote. You investigate to determine whether or not there are sufficient grounds to hold the vote.

They've already done that and continue to do that.

Once they call for the vote for impeachment, it's over.

That's why Pelosi is continuing to do what they're doing - investigating, building a case, building outrage - because once she holds that vote, and they win by majority, the Senate takes over completely and the House will not have one thing more to do with it.

That's why your entire "slow walk" idea is meaningless. There is no "slow walk" for the House. They vote, and then it's over for them...hence why they are NOT moving towards an impeachment vote right now.
