Diamecius Earth application?

Hi I have an outdoor grow and have few threads here. I been applying diamecius earth ocassionally in the last 2 weeks. I only sprinkle a light coat on the top of my pots but not too close to stem. The plants seem to love it but when I water it wets and i believe doesnt protect against insects anymore. Can I reapply after every watering? Or will it burn my plants? Or does it even have the ability to burn your plants? Also another question in a couple weeks I plan to add benefecial insects to my garden like ladybugs, praying mantis. Will diamecious earth hurt the good insects from doing their jobs? Or do you just cut down on how many times you apply each week?

AFAIK diatomaceous earth looses some efficacy when water is introduced. It's silica, so it shouldn't burn your plants, but it will affect all insects. You'll probably have to choose between the de or the beneficial insects.

Could I possibly use DE for now and stop after I introduce the benefecial insects?
