What size net for scrog?

You got it man! Slam that net! From underneath you sort of pull the branches down and out of the net and then farther across the underneath. When your around 70-80% canopy cover, switch to flower and the final stretch phase completes your canopy. The flowers you can allow to pop above the screen, and it will help support them also. That’s why I never really agreed with wide net spacing, as it acts as a trellis or a tomato cage in a way. It supports your fruits.

Cheers

I don’t raise the net, I set it as an upper limit for all vegetative growth before flowering. I usually pull down and stretch into empty grid spaces until I have maybe some empty corners and/or a couple minor empty spots and then flip. Keep tucking and or weaving until stretch stops and flowers start poppin.

ahh i think i understand the way i see some doing it is they just keep tucking it under but i read you want it to grow up a little then tuck under.

gonna try and buy the net this friday if not next week for sure.

If you grow it up first and then put the screen down on it and tuck them, then you have to bend all the branches to get it into the screen. If you put the screen on and then just grow it into the screen you don't have to do any heavy bending, and you don't veg the plant any more then you need to.

Growing the plant INTO the scrog is the traditional way of doing a scrog.

do you have a video to showcase this? i think i know what you mean which is what i was initionally going to do which was just slap the net on, let it grow up and as it grows close to comming out the holes just tuck them under and let it grow and continue to just keep tucking under. i think the way he is talking about is to let them grow past the holes then tuck under that way kind of seems harder though cause the stems i figure will harden up and could make it harder to bend right?

imma try find a video but all the ones i looking at rn kinda look mediocre imo

Taken today, this is my first effort @ a scrog. I’ve already done all kinds of things wrong. Was growing these 5 plants (3 Critical Orange Punch, 2 Blue Steel & a Blue Hulk) to be mothers, topped a few times, then decided to flower them instead. They were already fairly tall, & obviously of differing strains. Few plants, when I think SCROG is most often done with a number of plants? Ran out of what I think are 30 gallon fabric pots & put the Blue Hulk in something half that size.

I will further tighten down the net soon as I get some more uber-cable ties. Soon. I ignored them for a week or more, & they’re a bit irritated with me. Running a new Ushio Blue / Daylight bulb, currently @ 750w.Trimmed undergrowth pretty hard yesterday. Today some kelp foliar & added box fan for under the frame. They’ll be ready for a feeding in 1-2 days, & if they start to perk up, I’ll increase light to 1000w. I plan to flip & change bulbs in 7-10 days, depending on how the screen looks. I’ve seen some guidance on this platform, suggesting that a new scrog grower should force early; that otherwise, the bushiness can be challenging. CO2 is @ 1200, with a 250 deadband. Distance between pot & frame is about 14”. I was reluctant to shorten this because the plants had not been trained to a screen, but were still fairly flexible. GH nutes. Day time is 77-80F @ 50-57RH.
