World Of Hempy

Sorry if this question has been asked before I searched on this thread as much as possible and others but couldnt find the answer.

I grow on the equator pure sativas, usually panama and haze. I grow in a green house using pure perlite watering 3 to 5 times a day. Its not hempy the holes are at the bottom. Ive only recently come across hempy and thought it would be great just to water less. The problem is Africa is hot as hell, and in the greenhouse even hotter. I'm worried the water in the bottom may attract root rot. If any one has any suggestions if it will work please let me know.

If you're worried about the reservoir going anaerobic and causing rot, I don't think you'll have to worry about that too much. Even if the water was in there for 2-3 days it should be fine. If you're watering 3-5 times a day now, I suppose that may go to once a day or every other. I love my hempies and am converting all grows to them.

Try one or two as an experiment and see if this growing style works for you too without risking your entire crop?

Thanks for your reply,

I'll try a few and see how I go, I'll also try putting the hole on some 1 inch high instead of 2, just so the water doesn't sit in there as long.

Not much to post right now...plants just motoring along...I did put 10 potential candidates for my next crop into Hempy solo cups...all were well rooted in initial 8oz styro coffee cup and choose a group to start prepping for next crop...I will replant in about 4 weeks...These will all be HEAVILY rooted and prunned to great off to a great start....I dont do mother plants...Cant find a need for it...When I put a crop into flower, I take cuttings (off them) for the next one...There is NO PROBLEM with them getting too big..I withhold nutes a little and just prune them back if they do get too tall....This actually allows me a better chance to get a good plant profile, AND they will have MASSIVE roots by then too...One of the reasons I usually only have to veg 3 weeks...these will have the final prunning about a week after transplant into main garden to achieve that even canopy....Last crop went 23 days if veg...Typically, its always right around that 3 week mark of vegging to get the size I like before timer flip....Love my space filled without over crowding it....If anything, I rather be a little busy cause I defoliate (selectively) to keep good light coming in, plus have a light mover....I hate wasted space...a quirk of mine....LOL...Cpl hempy solo pics...YT?..bored so doing an edit....the 10 hempy solo cups include White Widow extrm, Cheese Candy, Incredible Bulk, Bubble Bomb and THC Bomb..the Bomb genetics are whats flowering now (from seed) so still not sure which will be the Chosen one to continue (if any!)View attachment 4022669 View attachment 4022670
When you first start in the coffee cups and then transplant, are you combining the cups? Or how do you transplant.. I'm coming from coco and i'm wondering how you're transfering from coffee -> solo -> final hempy.
I'm trying to wrap my head around it, are you cutting the bottoms out and sliding the cups up? Also are you using pure perlite? Thanks.

Also what size airstone? Thank you!!

Alright hempy guys!!! Got some issues going on!!

I’m On week 3 flower day 22.
Using Remo nutrients full strength on the 3rd week of their feeding schedule.
PH of everything going in is between 5.8-6.2. Not sure where my PPM’s sit. Last evening Prior to these pics I took today I flushed 3 plants with 1 gallon reservoirs with 9 gallons of RO water PH’d to 5.8. Then I continued on my schedule and reset the reservoirs with 1 gallon of nute solution per reservoir so 3 gallons total between 3 plants. My plants seemed to have gotten a bit worse over night.... thoughts? Am I locked out and burning my plants up or am I experiencing deficiencies? It looks to me like K deficiency/Tox and calcium. Not too sure where to go from here.

My last feeding was
7 ML bloom
7ML astro Flower
7ML MagNifiCal
7 ML Micro

there's your problem. over feeding. pH is good.

buy an EC meter. they are about 30 bucks for a decent one.

flush the hempys with a few gallons. then give a 24hr flush with plain water, start back on 1/4 of what Remo says for nutes.

Awesome I figured I was overfeeding vs under feeding my leaf tips are curling up like they are frying. I’ve got a ec/tds/ppm meter I’m just not good at using it lol. But I’ll get on top of it! I appreciate it! Time to get to flushing I suppose. Thanks again!

if you have a EC meter, go for about 0.6 EC after the flush. then plants that size should be able to handle around 1.2 EC. you shouldn't need to go higher than that.

Holy hell I was definitely well above that....
Last week I took ppm prior to feeding and it wasn’t 1.8 good to know I really appreciate the feedback!

@rkymtnman so after the flush and it sitting in ro water over night everything’s progressed very quickly. You think I’m under fed? Should I have had progression in these symptoms after a flush of it was over fed? Based on these results it seems like it’s under fed. Idk confused right now.

from those pics you put up, the brown tips is def overfeeding. and if you were around 1.8 or higher, you probably nute locked them out. the flush should break that lockout and they should start eating again. most of that damage won't be repaired, you just have to worry about it not getting much worse.

when you feed them, how often do you ? once a day? twice a day? and do you make sure you feed them with enough for some runoff to come out the hole in the bucket?

and what are you feeding them? what nutes and what additives? and what EC are you feeding them at?

I’m feeding every other day sometimes every couple days enough for run off.

Feeding
Bloom
Micro
Cal mag
Astroflower
Velo kelp
Nature’s candy

Last feeding was 1.8 EC

Should I be feeding every day? I’ve got an external 17 gallon reservoir that feeds 6” halo rings on each plant so I can bump it to daily feeds if need be.

the remo feed chart has equal amounts of bloom and micro? didn't you say 7mL of each?

and what is the astroflower and nature's candy? do they have a NPK rating for each one?

when i did hempy's, i fed twice a day in bloom. but at much lower EC than you. around 0.8EC

i still think your 1.8 is too high IMO. as a test, you can measure your runoff and see what EC it is at.

and what media is your hempy? perlite and vermiculite 3:1 ratio? or something else?

I’m in 100% perlite. Astro Flower is a PK boost and nature’s candy is bennies/sugars

Been feeding week 2 Flower which is 7 ml according to remos feed chart.

Are you familiar with megacrop? I’m using it with my coco DTW plants and I’m having really good results. I’m debating just switching my hempys over to it. And feeding one to two times daily at lower ec

i am and it was pretty good i thought. i had some pH issues with it which is why i quit using it.

looking at all those labels, i would say drop the PK booster one. your PK seems high enough with just the micro and bloom. 7-4-8 is a decent ratio. micro, bloom and cal/mg

i would try half of what amounts you are using now (skip the PK) and you should be pretty close to 1.0EC which i think is a better target value than 1.8 and feed once a day. if they dont' turn around in 3 or 4 days, switch over to megacrop.
