It's better than mine! I used ocean Forest, black gold and Roots Organics. Mixed in a little extra perlite and Bunny fertilizer. I used Straight ocean Forest on the bottom 1/3, Roots Organics and ocean Forest mixed in the middle 2/3 and black gold on the top third of my 30 gallon pot. This is only my 3rd grow and my 1st grow using this mix. I got a lot of advice from some pros though. So you should do well!

With that soil mix you’ll need some bottle nutes or some additives. Google Subcool supersoil mix in small batches. Or Google COOTS MIX

That makes me feel better! Huh I didn't do layers like you did. I mixed everything together like a manic for 30 minutes. I made sure all the clumps were out especially from ancient forest being so heavy. I got this basically from Jorge Cervantes videos. All though I plan to add top dressing probably blood meal for vegetative and some other stuff. Bone meal and fish powder during flowering.

Even if i'm adding top dressing in about 3 weeks? I did plan to use some fox farms vegetative liquid nutes. I plan to add top dressing probably blood meal for vegetative and some other stuff. I will take look at TGA subcools mix. I should probably went with that.

These plants will be grown in a open greenhouse in the summer and in fall when heavy rain comes I will cover the greenhouse in plastic. So I can extend my flowering to late October or early November. Bone meal, fish powder, rock dust, during flowering. I'm also have unique outdoor grow that uses permaculture mainly to naturally to keep pest away. I plan to grow clover in the pots. Lavender plants and other plants to attract beneficial insects. Releasing lady bugs, praying mantis, fountain in the middle of greenhouse to add some humidity during vegetative growth and drain it when it flowers. I plan to grow grass in the green house to also help keep humidity levels nice and let the grass die when it flowers to avoid high humidity.

I’m using the COOTS recipe and that’s probably the best one to use. But yea they can survive in what you have for 3 weeks then they’ll need a top dress but it better to mix additives into your soil mix so you don’t get a “muddy” “poopy” top layer

Will do man in about week we will have the hoop greenhouse completed! Were currently framing the foundation now. When it's done Ill make an official grow log thread after I moved all the pots in the greenhouse. Last year we hired a experienced grower to teach us how to grow cannabis. He did use autoflower strains and this was specifically for our CBD businesses so we grew AC/DC # 2 autoflower. So he didnt have to worry about photoperiod My dad even has his on lab setup now. We are just learning how to separate CBD from THC.

Anyway the field was beautiful. Sun flowers, clover, grass, honey bees. One of the phenos had huge thick buds. Unfortunately its for CBD so i don't have much interest smoking for a high. Anyway we are taking what we learned from this guy last year and using the technique on high THC plants. But In another field were gonna plant 60 Ringos gift seeds in the same pots we grew in last year. I have seen quite a few videos using the old soil is good because it has all the good bacterium from last year. Of course you add some stuff.

I learned the layer thing from another grower on this forum. The idea is you don't need to waste money putting high-grade soil on the top layer and putting the super good stuff on the bottom gives the root something to reach for. Anyway first time trying it we'll see. The only other two things I do is add Maxsea during water and neem oil against powdery mildew and insects.

This. IMO it's the best soil recipe, it's been used for decades now as Coot's says he got it from Cornell University's soil mix and just tweaked it to his personal situation. I've used this recipe for the last 5 years now with great success. Subcool's soil is a bit overrated in my opinion. Too pricey and has a lot of stuff that's really unnecessary.

As for additives, he can always top dress with something like Fox Farm's Ocean Cuisine or Dr. Earth Life with some guano.

Need more inorganics like perlite or pumice IMO. That stuff will be pretty soggy.
