Advanced Nutrients VS. Mega Crop

hey home brewer long time no see! its been a while and I'm back. Glad to see you're still on here. I may be doing a hempy sometime soon. havent gotten deep enough into organics yet~ great results with hempys!v

I am almost out of my supply of advances nutrienta 2 part Sensi Grow and my Bloom is already gone. But I am hearing good things about this Mega Crop nutes. I am in veg right now just startes some new babes..Blue Cookies, Purple Kush and Bruce Banner. They are being grown in Pro Mix. And will be needing nutes this week, they are in Veg cycle right now. Should I go for the Mega Crop or should I stay with Advanced Nutrients 2 part Sensi Grow A+B for veg cycle?? Or
are there better nutrients for me? This ir urgent plz help!!!!!

how many times watering? are you positive this isn't just a moisture infrequency if your PH and PPM are right?

when i used to do hydro another factor is airflow. Is something wierd happening....? somewhere maybe..?

runoff method 10% for me is crucial. If you don't understand that method~ inquire.

light zone: are your lights properly hung?\


air zone: compensates both roots, foliage,and lights. engineer this so its easier for u. do not over transpirate the leaves

Hilarious. I have Blue Cookies, Purple Kush, And Bruce Banner all going right now and I just finished my supply of 2 Part Sensi Grow and Bloom by Advanced Nutrients and grabbed some Megacrop! I love it. Besides having some nutrient lock out with the blue cookies which I think it strain specific, I love the m have crop u can tell In those pic of the blue cookies and Purple Kush the Purple Kush is Kush and healthy!!!!!

@hayshayshay Something is wrong in the tent. If you believe lock out from the nutes is occurring you could flush it out and dial back dosages. The way the taller plant in the back right is reacting looks like heat stress to me. It's leaves are pointed up well beyond normal "praying" leaves would reach. my 2 cents.

Yeah, that was exactly my first thought was ahh PH is facked!!!! But after testing 3 times and getting 6.1 for PH I was like couldn't be PH. Maybe my digital PH Tester is broken or needs a recalibration. I am going to try the old litmus paper tonight and see what it has to say. But I think it looks like nutrient lock out personally..

As most nutrient lockouts are due to pH being way out of whack. Make sure you have saturated the rootzone for a few hours before adding enough water to force some out and test that. Catch it in a clean tray too or might as well not test at all. Testing right when you first water your plants tells you mainly the pH of what you are pouring in and not what the pH actually is where the roots live. Can take overnight for the pH to stabilize.

Yeah I always saturate and test 2-3 hours after..i am going to recalibrate my oh meter now and then research tonight and then flush from there. Which was my first initial thought

That 600 watt MH if maxed out is driving them gals hard in that space.Coupled with the root issues of the cultivar in question,I'd say the environment is at play as well.

There is a plant in the middle back showing some signs of lockout or deficiency.I'm leaning towards lockout due to something amiss in the root zone being that MC really does have all a plant needs.

I have been checking PH after my calibration fot days now and still says perfect pH of 6.1. I even just went out and bought a root farm pH text kit (the only one in store atm) and again perfect pH of 6.0 on that test after testing the nutrient solution..I am going to be checking the water run off of the plants that are looking sick as well as the healthy ones with the pH test kit now and see what it says, then I will give you guys an update. Some days have been hotter here lately and it's been spiking the odd day to 85° but now the AC is hooked back up for the summer as of a couple days ago. Because again that was one of my first thought was holy shit that looks like nutrient lock out OR heat stress...I am going to check the pH of the water run off again right now with the new pH test kit I just purchased an hour ago and see what that has to say. If thats on point like the digital pH meter says it is at 6.1 when I tested last night then I know for sure it's iron deficiency.

And yes of course I have solution for Calibrating my digital pH meter. I'm not new hahah. That's why I think this is funky I have grown hundreds of cultivers and have never had this issue. Its my passion and I do it professionally for all of Canada. So when I see something off I like the to post so that other people can see and learn as well. That way it can save their grows if the problem ever arises for them. From.one grower to another I hated seeing such beautiful plants sick whether they be mine or someone elses! After all we all have a love for growing that sweet sticky Icky here!!

Now this new root farm pH test kit says it works on nutrient solution..but is that only for root farm products or any. I hated using just off the shelf crap but this problem is urgent and my babies are suffering. Anyone on here ever use the root farm pH testing kit or is it garbage? That's why I like my digital tester.

Root Farm like GH, Gavita and Botanicare et al is from the Hawthorne group which is a subsidiary of Scott's which is a subsidiary or Mon$anto/Bayer.

I do not and never will use Root Farm products. I encourage all to do the same.

Yes exactly what I was thinking, I was like this looks like garbage but is the only pH test kit they had in for $8. It's just to test until the new digital pH meter and a second pH test kit comes in that I ordered earlier today. It wont be here until next week. But pH test kit is one thing I would NEVER use any of their other products like their versions of pH up and pH down or any of their nutrients. Usually that off th shelf shit from home hardware or Lowe's is garbage like miracle grow and all that crap. What a death sentence.

Just food for thought, figured id share with anyone interested. My water is pretty jacked up due to being really high in iron.

Also, update..recharged the battery on my digital pH tester and recalibrated as well. To ready pH is 6.7-6.8 on 4/5 Blue Cookies and the 5th one was 7.0. I also texted on 2nd just Liquid pH kit..and recieved the same results. However the rootzone pH kit (although I figured it was crap before I got it but was only one there until I receive my new pH kit and meter this week) but I couldn't get it to test on water. But I gave them a flush which I think will help. I am hoping pH will be a bit better after flush. And then I think after nutrient lock out some Iron or magnesium is in need..

Have you scope for broad mites,I had them and thought it was the ph or the fertilizer. Its easy to do,I try to scope first thing ,when something doesn't look right.

So update...I have adjusted with pH down as the pH was 6.8-7 for the affected plants and I will be giving some Cal Mag by Greenleaf Nutrients after the pH test back at 5.8-6.1. preferably 6.0. and I know they can handle the cal mag.

That's not low iron. It's scorched leaves from lights if anything.
