hey everyone currently have 16 plants under a 400w mh all doing very well and looking healthy. I intended to put all of them outdoors and give a few away to friends. Then I got thinking I’d really like to grow the 6 feminized seeds that I bought indoors but don’t want to battle the heat of the mh and hps I have in the 8\10 room I have this summer. Was looking at a 1000w locally made led light ... can’t remenr the brand but was 1250$ cad, seems expensive but probably worth it. Only want to grow four or five inside. If anyone has any links and lingts they suggest at that price as a max I’d really appreciate it

What state are you in. I have lights, ballasts and reflectors to get rid of before I move.

A guy here just dropped about $1500. You get what you pay for. If you are lucky. There’s cheap and then there’s damned good but there’s no cheap but damned good”. Service life expectancy for LED is very long. Consider the cost split over years.

It really comes down to how committed you are to growing. Will you still be growing (indoors at least) here in, per say, 3 or 4 years? If not, then you may very well be better off going with a cheaper option simply because you aren't going to have to worry about replacing the light when it's reached the end of it's lifespan. If you do plan on long term indoor growing, then it is absolutely worth going with the more expensive option, as you're less likely to be replacing parts or the whole thing in years to come, not to mention drawing and using less power. Not knowing the brand of LED you intend on buying, I can't offer any info on that. But I will say, DO YOUR HOMEWORK. You don't want to drop $1k on something just to find out later on you could've gotten a far more reputable brand with more support, resources, and even warranties for the same price. As with anything related to growing, research is your best friend! Good luck with your grow and good job thus far!

How big of a space are you going to grow in?
Timber Grow Lights was the best pre fab COBs I found.

Definitely under 1250$ CND.

If you want quantum board lights, just go to AliExpress and order them. No need to pay someone else a crazy markup when they’re using the exact same diodes in the same number and configurations. There’s no special sauce to a quantum board when everyone is using the same diodes.

^ This person is an idiot. Don't listen to them. There are a shit ton of Chinese knock offs that aren't using legit diodes. The person I quoted has an agenda and an axe to grind with hlg.

I have enough common sense to know that a LM301B is a LM301B regardless of who you buy it from. Who do you think makes the quantum boards for HLG? China. There is nothing special about a white LED that anyone can buy. So if there is nothing special about their product and literally anyone can build a panel using the same LEDs from Samsung, why waste your money on 3 printed letters? Just have them write HLG on it for you and it will perform the same. Or shoot buy one of each and run them against each other to show Johnny Walker he should be making his comments to a mirror.
