Got bored waiting on parts for the big lights. So I throw this little lady together last night.

Four 40 Lm301b diode 2700k strips with two 5000k cxa3050s in the center that slide back n forth. The cxa3050s can be pushed up to 100w each 2.5A @36vdc but I'm running them even below typ. Typ is 1.4A im running them on a single 36v 1.8cc driver. In series. So both will be pushed at 36vdc @900mA 32.4w each. Super soft. Actively cooled, on PC heatsinks. Fans run 12vdc 150mA. The strips are 18-27vdc 1000mA max. I'm running them on a 14-39vdc inventronics driver. Set at 1.4A 38v with the programmer. Two groups of series then to the driver in parallel. So each strip will get 19v @700mA roughly 13w each. Total will be 100-120w

Some 3k bridgelux that I've had laying around. Was gonna sell em. But figured I'd put em on the outside of the light above. With the 27k lm301bs. And the 5k cree cobs in the middle. 5k, 27k, and 3k. Hoping the mix will bring out roughly 3500k. See how it does when i test it.

And on a brighter note, I finally got shipping info after 28 days the 100 count strip order is on it's way. To get these two lights built. 1920w and 1280w builds. Finally. And if anyone knows a good supplier of strips. Other than arrow or digikey. Bc they are now out of stock. I got the last of the 3ks from arrow a few days ago. But I need over 700 strips.

Glad you finally got it sorted. Its no fun to wait and painfull to watch...
In your situation id seriously consider the china options, they get you the gear in no time. With the pricing they are giving its very easy to increase the amount of diodes per area with 50-100% in order to compensate for any lower efficacies or bins and still be around the same price as if going with HLG or similar. If i can take twice the diodes one bin down and run it all softer for the same price ill always go for it. Once you tried the fotops/qb800 its hard to go back, at least if they fit your space... I guess its something youd have to see for your self. R2t got some boards with around 560 lm301b for around 55ish which look nice for running soft without heatsink.
Either that or get accounts with manufacturers, its how cobkits started. Anyways, glad you got your gear sorted.

I jus nvr dreamed it would take 30 days to get an order from cutter. I put it off for over a year ordering through Mark. Bc of shipping overseas. And the shipping price. And I absolutely despise DhL shipping and that's really his only option. And then the one time I order. I order 100 strips. Then come to find out in stock doesnt actually mean he has them. They still have to be made. Atleast now it's on his site they are made to order. And his communication is near shit. Takes days to email back. But is constantly on here playing around. It took entirely too long to get the order. I looked into Alibaba. But my big thing is I only use name brand diodes. And I dont have the ability to buy from alibaba and test to find out if they are legit diodes. People I build for want actual name brand. They dont want Chinese knockoffs. But we both the difference is really minimal. But I was gonna replace all my personal lights again. So I'm probably gonna check out Alibaba I've seen grows with fotop boards. And they look seriously good.

I added these 2700k flower bars on hand made heatsinks. Being pushed at 450mA each. In series groups then back to the driver in parallel. I mounted a thermal couple to the led strip from my meter. And after an hour and 45 mins. With absolutely no air movent. They held nicely at 50°c or roughly 122-124° F I'm impressed with the heat. They are pretty cool to the touch. And at 18" on a lux meter hitting 80,000 lux. And hitting 95k lux at 12"

It's a mix of (4) 2700k 40 diode LM301b, (4) Bridgelux 3000k, and (2) Cree 5000k cobs on active sinks.

You don't have to test to verify, for example with samsung lm561 series diodes there is no other manufacturer that makes diodes that look the same, same shape size ect.. But to be fair some people have been screwed, some people have order lm561c and received B or B+ instead. I've ordered 70x lm561c s6 PCB boards so far and every one of them was legit.. What I did was I ordered every lm561 series chip that I could from digikey to verify what I was actually sent..

Without testing you cant tell the difference between a lm561c s1 or lm561c s6 and theres a difference of about 40 lumen per watt I believe. You also cant tell the difference between the 202lm/w lm301b and the 220lm/w lm301b+ they are identical size. Both diodes. Even though the difference in growing with a lm561c s3 and a lm561c s6 is minimal. If someone asks for s6 diodes. I dont wanna say ok build a light with possibly s01 diodes and tell them it's an s6. I guess its jus more of principle of the thing. Idk. But I agree with you.

I have a slew of alibab 280mm strips that are suppose to be lm301bs. I'm running a test grow right now with them. To see how they are. And by a slew I mean 250 of them. Lol. Me and two other guys went on in a 750 count order. Got a very good deal. The light I just posted with the cobs in the center is the strips on the inside. 2700k 40 diode count 280mm length. They look identical to my H inFlux_L06 strips that are lm301bs. But so far with them the plants have grown very very good. But there is also 4 bridgelux 560mm 3000k strips, and two Cree Cxa3050s in 5k. On active sinks. I got a ton of them too. Through my work we ordered 8 cases of them. Like 3000 cobs. For changeovers at our state university lighting. On the ncaa basketball court and our lighting in and around our stadium. And we had like 400 left. At this time the cxa's were new. And i got them for 2 bucks a piece from work. Still sealed in the cartons. They are amazing for veg. They will veg the hell outta some plants. Run really soft. They get like 140lm/w which isnt to awful bad.

S6 on the left and S5 on the right, every board I have looks exactly like the diode on the left but none of them resemble the diode on the right. I've also heard from others that there's no visual difference between bins but surely there is, at least in my experience..

we are going to a new solderless connector on the Solstrips to speed up assembly. Stainless, highly reflective, 9amp, 600v rating, use you own wire cut lengths

Cheers
Mark
Are they the variant that accepts stranded wire?

"Push-in CAGE CLAMP® variant:
Insert fine-stranded conductors and remove all conductor types via operating tool. Solid conductors can also be terminated by simply pushing them in."
