Try asking primelight for prices on their mechatronic (or whatever its called) heat sinks, they are a citizen supplierin uk.
I got mine from china, it worked out much cheaper even after tax and shipping. Kingbrite..
Shame we don't have any pin heat sink distro here or a heatsinkUSA..
Could always go with strips and do away with the need for big heatsinks .

Last time I checked (while ago) kingbrite was the cheapest. I'm going to be adding a few cobs to my existing Cob set up. Not keen on adding strips. I'm pretty sure I looked at prime light a while ago.
Everything UK based always seems to be over priced. Looking like alpines or kingbrite then.

Yeah, if I remember right my heatsinks would of cost me like £40 each here instead of the $13 plus tax and shipping.

Very smart move to use a sink built for passive and throw a fan on it.

Do be mindful of the way the flat surface of the arctic 11 isn't so flat though. Make sure that if you drill and tap which you'll have to, that your cob will be able to completely lay flat and make contact with the raised area COMPLETELY. Use some real good arctic mx thermal grease as well. Adding a fan to that thing will easily dissipate 75watts, with ease.

I’m pretty sure from memory that someone posted on a thread that they had drilled & tapped either a cxb or luminous to an alpine 11 including cob holder. I know they have a little raised chunk in the centre of the sink so that is the concern. If I go that route, I will probably just buy 1 to check the dimensions work. They are only £10 roughly so its not a great loss if it doesn’t work.
That said, it would be a lot of drilling & tapping which I really hate. The last time I did that, I did have a tap break off half way through which is a pain in the ass to deal with. Heatsinks from Kingbrite come pre-drilled & tapped which is a huge time & effort saver.

Renxin did mine all the way I wanted. You just gotta tell em what but they usually want a blueprint of the holder/COB you're using.
