Temps rose over 100 during flower/ need advice!

Well yesterday morning I decided to turn my minisplit over to "auto" mode and stat on 75 degrees. I usually have it running on "cool" set to max fan mode and keep the thermostat set on 75 to 78 degrees.

For some reason, auto mode doesn't do shit... it obviously does not work. So for the last 9 hours of my 12/12 on my temps have been outrageous. I run 4 1000 watt hps and 2 315cmh, sealed room.

I go out when I woke up this morning to check on the girls and it was hot as fuck in there, temps was showing 118 degrees... About half of them looked normal, the other half were wilted due to the heat. You can tell they most definitely did not like it. So I immediately dialed all lights down to minimum output and unplugged the CMH's. Turned my AC to cool, fan on max and shut off my dehu which also puts out quiet a but of heat. Temps are slowly coming down. I sit with them the last 45 mins to make sure the temps got back around normal, when I left the room around 20 mins ago the temps were down to around 82 degrees and slowly dropping.

Wow, I almost lost my crop. For real... I am 30 days into flower. It would have been devastating if they had of died. So my question is, will they recover from this heat spell? I know there is hermies to worry about but luckily I had sprayed with florel the night before so maybe that will reduce that factor. They weren't so wilted that they looked beyond repair but they were wilted. I watered the ones that were wilted the most as the medium was dry... (I run Drip irrigation), they get fed twice during the lights on cycle...

Is this gonna screw up my crop? Or do you think I will be okay? Like i said, they sit in this heat between 115 to 120 for around 9 hours. Any help or advice is appreciated!

I would say they should recover, but I never hit temps that high. Good luck.

I had this happen to me , now have a gavita controller to turn down or turn off my lights when temps get to high.

The water in the reservoir was pretty warm, almost as warm as bath water in the upper part. Nice and cool deeper down at the pumps.

I am honestly thinking of adding a large window unit to my room on the next run. Can't really afford to replace my mini split with another, hell the one I have is a 26,000 btu and it barely does the job... Should be more than I need though.

My unit is in the lung room. I have the lung room vented, the exhaust sucks the hot air out that the unit disperses. I think adding a window unit would allow me to run nice temps during the summer. Thoughts?

Also, this grow was terribly planned out. From now on I am not over vegging, not going over board with plant numbers and choosing only strains that do not stretch much, for the summer and spring anyway... Also, getting back to training. I usually always LST and use my tomato cages and I have plenty of room between the light and canopy. This time, not so much. I always over do it. My last run was grown from clones short and bushy, had an excellent yield.

About 80% of my strains this time are from GPS, and we all know that StarDawg male of Gu's Carrie's his presence well into his offspring. Stretchy as hell even though he always usually guarantees a nice plant.

Here is my last run running clones, you can see the difference in the canopy, my current run almost doubles my last grow in height!

Problem with the window units, is the back gets really hot, could be a problem in the room the back of it’s hanging into.

How old is the mini?
When was the last time u took the grill off the condenser n blew it out (blow from inside out , not outside in)
Check the lines for leaks? Any dirt or oil around the hookups at the condenser?
Maybe your in need of a recharge?

Up potting just before flip, will cut your stretch down a little .
Keeping the same temp durning lights off as lights on, will cut back on stretch too.

The room that it would be hanging into would be vented out along with the mini split exhaust as well.

I never have issues with stretch but this time I knew I was in for it, I begged a month and half longer than usual and have way to many plants even after going through and culling a few out. Wont happen again, that's tor sure.

I have not cleaned the unit out yet, since I have had it. Got it last year, this is the second run I have done with the unit, so not much use on it. I had read before that they get dirty quiet easily and often. But when I open the facing there is no dirt whatsoever on the filter screen? Its clean as a whistle.

One thing i have noticed is one of the drain tubes from the unit is not really putting out hardly and water at all like it used to did, but the air coming out of the unit is ice cold...

I’d put a temp controller in there, to turn off lights or vent more air.
Or at least a wifi sensor to text you when the temp starts climbing .

Both of them are a lot cheaper then losing a crop n starting over.

You need to wash the outside coil on that outside condenser a couple times a year they fill with cottonwood and what not and lose efficiency quickly due to there small size

I hear having MS issues is no fun. I don't wanna find out, that's for sure. I did have a thermo controlled outlet that kicked on once temps got over 83 degrees, wish I still had that hooked up. Gonna have to do a few mods soon.
