General Seed Help

Hey guys,

I had an account on this forum once upon a time when I was more active, but that was years ago and can't for the life of me seem to figure out the login info. Nonethless; I am getting off track.

I have grown for a long time now but have always just bummed clones off buddies back when I lived with people who grew and have had mothers ever since that I have grown from since I have always been a closet grower. But now that I am in a living situation where I can really branch out and grow to full potential I was wanting to get into some more superior genetics.

I have sifted through this sub forum a little bit but the more I read and branch out trying to do my own research the more my head begins to spin. So with that being said; I have come to ask a few quesitons in hopes you lovely folks can point me in the right direction.

The main question is what are some good geneticists I should be looking at. I know from some buddies that exotic genetix is good, and jungle boys is good although I believe you can only get theirs genetics from clone cuts, as well as a couple other brands. But I was curious to hear some more opinions on who are some top geneticists in yalls opinion and that yall would recommend.

The cuttings I have grown from have been barney farms, RQS, and other nonbranded and/or bag seeds.

And as a side note, it seems to be that more of the better geneticists tend to sell their seeds unfeminised. Is that a rule of thumb that better genetics typically are unfeminised?

Regardless, I hope to hear from yall soon as I anxiously await to get my operation in full motion.

Bodhi, Joti, Second Generation, RedEye, Ace, Bomb, Digital, BigWorm, Thug Put, Inhouse are all good in my experience.

A lot of these new breeders offer the flavor of the day without being tested and they end up having hermie tendencies so keep that in mind.

It's really going to depend on what you're looking for. Do you want to play the lottery by popping 10 F1 seeds and see 8 different expressions? Or are you looking for something worked and consistent that delivers roughly the same experience throughout 10 beans? Most people have a top list of requirements for their strains such as, flower time, potency, flavor, smell, size, whatever... finding strains to grow becomes a lot easier if you prioritize those requirements you desire in a plant, then focus your search on strains that most closely match.

You make a good point. Realistically for the time being I'm looking for at least somewhat stable to stable beans. Couple phenos is fine but the less the better.

And then my first priority for my current project is yield and then followed by terpene and potency tied for 2nd and 3rd. But yield isnt the sole priority either, a good balance. The rest is just whatever for me at the end of the day, doesnt matter much.

I have ordered off 3 different sites all about same delivery time.. But seedsherenow is about 10% to 15% more expensive. Thats bc he offers 100% guarantee. U forget to water, overwater, burn wit nutes, anything at all just send email and u get replacement. Other sites headiegardens and great lakes gentics...seedsherenow has biggest selection but do not carry Bodhi. Use money order get extra 10% off ,code Dude10 another 10% off.. For fems that not my thing but i have ran 187 from Dominion.. But for best fems hands down its csi humboldt. He has many old cuts chem 91, Triangle, Urkel, Mendo, Humboldt Snow. Nspecta is a much respected breeder.. To catch up on things listen to a few Pot Cast episodes. Great knowledge from the best Skunk Va , Bob Hemphill, Bodhi, Nspecta, MeanGene, BOG, Maddfarmer.... If u want gas n chem go with TK hybrid and if u want colors and terps grab an urkel hybrid..hope this helps

thats your problem right there, reviews from vintage growers. Pretty much all of thsoe growers will agree that quality of those companies has significantly dropped in the last 15 years.
