Humidity

hi there,

How can I raise the humidity in my shed?
Tried a bowl with a wet towel in it; works for a short while...
Are there any diy alternatives ?

Currently, I have 30-35 % Rh. Is that ok?

If I buy a humidifier, what size do I need for a 3 x 3 room?
Are there any cheap ones that are good?
Struck for cash...

I bought a small cheap one from walmart for like $30

it takes 1/2 gallon of water and keeps the rh up in my 4x4 easily enough.

I did the towel trick as well and it really helps. I noticed it helps better if you have a fan blowing on it to wick the humidity up in the air (hope I used those words right).
I would try to keep humidity at least in the 50’s. Are they in veg or flower?

The girls are in veg stage; will try the fan trick. Do I ever get the RH too high?

Cheers for the info
Does it run quiet?
How much water do u use in 24 hours?
Ya very quiet

Fill it twice in 24 hours at full speed.

Once the plants got big enough to start bringing rh up, I turn it down and obviously use much less water

Works well for cheap

Where do you live, a desert?
I've never run into a problem with too low humidity, my problem has always been too high a humidity level.
If your in soil, just keep your soil moist and that should be good enough in my opinion.
Good luck

Yep, Dartmoor; hard to believe the desert conditions in my G-room...
Holy shit!!
I'd never think that there could be that humidity level over there. I hung out in western Ireland by the ocean, not much different from Devon and 50% humidity was the norm.
One good thing is your bud will dry rapidly, without any chance of rot.
Anyway, don't worry about it, it's not a problem, just worry about high temps.

Ta for that; it’s only dry inside the tent; in my greenhouse I’m fighting keeping Rh down....

Have a good one!

Get a $30 humidifier off eBay at least 1 gallon in size. 5 liter + is best. That way you can dial your humidity level to the desired RH % with the help of your temp/humidity meter and not have to refill the unit for at least 2 days hopefully. I have a smaller one for a clone and early veg 4x4 and have to refill the unit every 16-18 hours. If I forget then the clones look droopy and I'm sure the early veg plants slow in growth. I just purchased a 5 Liter unit so buy me a little more time. I try to top off DWC containers every 2-3 days. Would be nice to have a humidifier that can go that stretch without requiring refilled. It's sometimes worth spending a few extra dollars, to avoid having to re-buy larger a month or two later.

Alright then fellas; I scraped together my last pennies and invested in a 8,7 litre (2.3 gallon) humidifier.

I blame all of you if my family goes hungry... ;-)

Fired it up last night and it has turned my indoor desert into a jungle.

Thanks for the input!
