1st time grow

My recommendation is to go really easy on the flower feed at first. Like 50% of what it says. The FF lines (I have the gamut) veg like a mofo. I have beautiful thriving plants, prune them one day and they fill right back out the next. Doesn't matter how long it goes for either. But after the switch is when I have had issue. I don't mind the leaf loss, as long ass the buds are not effected, but can't help thinking they could be better.

Right now my I am trying one with just the "Gringo Rasta" plan. 3 liquid nutes that have no solids in them to settle and accumulate, and the 3 crystal nutes (Cha Ching etc.). Much better with this run, I have baby flowers with perfect leaves. https://www.rollitup.org/t/superskunk-manifold.982650/page-29
That is why I am leaning towards the original trio not being as great as everyone thinks, but enough people use it that they can't change it.

Yea i have seen people say that about f.f nutes guess i will see . so far so good though and havent had any issues at all with burns or deficiency on any of the plants but hope flower goes as good as the rest has. Maybe it's beginners luck im just hoping my clones root and live that i took.

Just checked on the ladies and noticed 2 are starting to spot from calcium deficiency so going give em some cal-mag and keep checking them next couple days. I did notice this during feeding and training today so hopefully correct it in time.

Yea i seen it today when watered and pulled them out to train and ordered some will be here tomorrow. Can u still feed with nutrients when u feed with the calmag

Yes, many guys are having to add calmag with every watering because they are using RO water as HAF said, some guys like myself rarely use it as im using tap water and it apparently has enough calmag in it, i havent seen any issues

Yes on the "with nutes" part. Also, some nute schedules call for additional cal-mag or their company equivalent during part of the grow. Usually from late veg through flower. For me that is in addition to what I add to the RO water.

With the cheap RO I start with 0ppm. If I add the full 5ml per gallon (for the RO, basically returning it to safer tap water) when I feed, plus whatever additional it calls for, I don't use it during between-feed watering's.

With the RO the water is completely neutral. 7.0 pH and 000ppm. If you try to pH it to 6.5 you'll go nuts because it immediately "assumes" the pH of whatever is added. The more nutes you put in the water, the more "up" it takes to change the pH, the less finicky the pH adjustments are.

That said, if you add anything to the water (calmag, nutes, whatever, it needs to be pH'd.

Using that theory, R/O water therefore also assumes the pH of the soil you are pouring it into if you just don't mess with it. Duh. Big time saver.

Sorry if I was vague before. I hate to say "this is the shit!" just because something works for me, or to condemn it when I can't make it work like other people do.

My basic idea on the nutes is that it should at a minimum have specific veg and bloom parts. If it says it does it all with one thing I'd avoid it.

Other additives are also good like silica, and micro-nutrients like manganese. The micronutrients are usually included in the nute-mixes so are not that big of an issue. If you have one, check what you are using and see if deficiencies correlate.

Things that address different stages of bloom specifically are also common sense, but tend to be pricey. If You are adding a 0 - 0.5 - 1.0 additive to something It better have $20 worth of something else in it ;)

I personally am leaning away from stuff with a lot of undissolved solids in it. Like the original trio, where if you let it set for 15 minutes the water is clear except for the chocolate milk at the bottom... I think this may be the stuff that is staying behind and over-feeding, which is why they recommend you flush it so often. I also think that is why they expanded their nute line to other stuff.

Watered with water and nutes this morning then again tonight with calmag will see what happens over next couple days

Fed today again they are now needing to be fed every 24 hours. Really filling out now and sprouting. Going to order more seeds this week to start some new strains and take clones off these babies before i flip.

Thanks they are getting bigger by the day now i definitely see it after each feeding so much new green. Im ready start some new seeds waiting on order

Humidifier broke in one of the tents going to pick one up today but this is them this morning and they are looking great. I'm very surprised this far with my first grow and learned alot already. I have expressed many training methods this grow to gain the different knowledge and learn the do's and donts for future grows. Ive contemplated the idea of growing for years and have tryed little grows as a kid but can say was nothing like this. I used the little bit i obtained from back then to now, lots and lots of research and hands on with the plants. Everyday is a learning process but an exciting one i must say. When i think back to me finally pulling the trigger and just doing it to now when i look at them I cant believe i waited this long. Already planning on next grows and cant wait. I will be flipping them this week and will continue to update.
