alright then couldn't some fbi or dea or whatever be surfing the web searching for shit like we have here, they could easily be like this is a gold mind and ask the owners of RIU for our isp or whatever and find where we live!? i can imagine they could with my judgement. what is RIU gunna say when the feds ask them to give up the info "no?" haha probably not. even if they need a warrant they will probably get one. Most peopel who enjoy this hobby won't have just one grow. they grow and harvest, grow and harvest and it repeats it self. by the time they get their warrant, more than likely you having a greenthumb, will still have a grow in progress.

Do some searching on CALEA and FISA. These are federal legislative acts that address exactly how law enforcement gains records from ISPs and websites. As long as they don't find people actively and obviously selling and/or trading drugs (pot for the most part, but we have a lot of people here who use a lot of other shit, too) then from what I can ascertain they don't have sufficient reason to go after site owners/admins for such information.

But! Like I said, they could be legally compelled to provide information, and say so in the new user agreement and rules. For instance, if someone started stalking another member and it got into more than just following people around then law enforcement has a legal right (or more properly an obligation) to get information specific to that member.

But, if they're gonna try to go after a buncha potheads, they're gonna have to lift hiring freezes and start crapping out a hell of a lot of money to do it by going through websites like this. There are other, more legal, easier ways.

In other words, dude, keep your shit tight.

riu is based in canada last time i heard. i don't think the dea or the fbi has any jurisdiction there. i could be wrong.
