Hey guys just want some opinions on my set up and what I have ready for my first grow any information or suggestions that could help me out would be awesome, I currently have a 600w LED full spectrum light, black orchid 4inch extractor fan and carbon filter, a tubular heater (will be moved to bottom of tent) a little USB rotating fan for circulation, a digital thermostat that shows inside and outside temperature with the humidity aswell, Canna coco soil, perlite, PH4/PH7, PH up and down, calmag, PH pen, fox farm nutrients (only 2 shown in photo as they send me 2 tiger blooms instead of the normal trio), pictures are attached, thanks in advance

Nowthen fella.

So just be careful with the tubular heater, make sure it doesn't touch the tent walls. Depending on wattage they get too hot to hold so would imagine could melt the tent fabric.

The 600w light is likely 230w or something, not sure on your space so not sure if its enough light, worst case it does you for veg for the meantime.

Coco is soilless, so ph your nutrients to 5.8-6.2 range.
You ph4 and 7 is for calibrating your pen.

I would get at least one more circulation fan. Use the little one under canopy and another blowing across tops of plants.

Put your thermometer out of direct light. You can dangle the probe anywhere you like.

Your filter seems to be outside your tent?

Screw a block of wood to the heater and hang it low down or rest it on the floor wood side down.

Whats the size of your tent?

Right my tent is 60cmx60cmx120cm,

I thought about moving the heater as the cooling fans on the light would be sucking in hiy hair straight from it not to mention the extraction vent is right by the heater aswell, its 40 watts 230 volts for the heater at 40.5cm length,

would you recommend I put the probe at the top with the cover thing facing the opposite way?

I thought it was soil due to what it looks like, I have attached a photo for you to see.

Couldn't see all your pics before, I like the little box for the temp probe!
My mate made it for me to stop direct heat from the light giving me the wrong readings but the light doesn't produce much heat at all,

I did germinate and did a little practice grow on seeds i found in a deal just to see if I could start it fine, didn't know if the seeds where auto or not but back to topic I went to check the temp and it was only 9° Celsius In there hence why I bought a heater for my proper first grow

That light is fine for that space then.

I have a couple of those tube heaters, mine are the 80w ones, funny thing is when I bought my house the previous guy had them in every room.. That and 50 bin liners of dead plants.. :bigjoint:

I don't think the probe will be an issue but you may as well flip that box the other way around, probes been so small they don't pick up huge amount of radiation from the light anyhow.

Yeah canna coco looks like soil but it has different properties and requires a lower ph feeding. But it holds more water and more oxygen, as long as you keep ph of nutrients going in right it performs really well.

I bought nutrients for soil so they be useless now yeah? I heard a PH level of 6.3 is good? Do I just PH the water and nutrients going in do I?

Yeah, its nice to see, your mate knows how to read air temps, its a bit of info that seems to be overlooked a lot these days.
Its defo more important with HPS which contains a lot of IR which makes more of a difference to temp reading, LED has little to no IR though, even if its called a full spectrum. But still its worth doing things properly.

It might be worth while running extraction fan on a timer if you struggle to get temps higher, you could run it with a 15min segmental timer and have it off for 45min on15 when lights are off and maybe try 15on 15off with lights on, that's if you need to raise temps more.

No they will be fine, there is only slight differences between coco specific nutrients and soil nutrients.
Make sure you use cal mag , especially when coco is new like it is, coco specific nutrients usually contain more calcium and magnesium but you have a bottle so your all good.

No need to feed a seedling nutrients though, if the baby leaves start to fade then start with nutrients at half dose.

I use canna coco, I like to stick around ph 6 and let a go a bit above or a bit below.
Mix your nutrients, ph, usually a few small drops of ph down will get you to where you want to be. Then your set.

Awesome mate that's some nice information to have, I got told the coco should have enough nutrients for a seedling for maybe 2/3 weeks,

I'l be growing Sweet Tooth autos for this grow so I havnt got much room for error Haha,

With the calmag should I use that from there seedling stage all the way through or only at certain stages?

Il play with the temperature and the fan on a timer like you said to see what happens as it is in my attic

Well if its autos you have the advantage of been able to run lights on 20h or even 24hours if it helps with temps.

Once you start feeding use your cal/mag with your other nutrients every feed, even if its only half dose.
Go on growweedeasy and check out calcium deficiency and magnesium deficiency, that way you know what to look out for if plants want more of either. Its the most likely deficiencies when growing in coco.
Don't be tempted to use more than suggested dose of nutrients, it causes more problems .

Good luck man!
