NFTG. Nectar For The Gods

Just a quick update - I'm on day two of week eight. Two of my girls are almost done with one I could cut down now, but usually wait at least another week. The other third one is still kinda holding on to those green leaves and pistils, although the bud fattening is starting to slow. I've been super happy switching to NFTG. My only issue was underfeeding one of these girls during week 5-6, but once I upped the Gaia and Herc she responded fine. Got a lot of little brown spots all over some of the middle and upper fan leaves, but I think that was my fault for under nourishing. Got a clone of her running now in #4 soil and 100% nftg (and some Photo+) from the beginning, so hopefully that will not be an issue going forward. Ran through my first bottle of Herc already because I'm in flush (ripen) mode now for two of them. Going to go pick up a bigger bottle of Herc and perhaps start expanding a little with other bottles too. Also looking into teas, been using up my Big Bloom as you suggested above for now... Thanks again for the continued support!

Man those look so good! I'm like a week behind you are my buds aren't even close to that size. A little tip for when you get some gallons instead of quarts; they are a total pain in the ass to try to pour into a teaspoon, so what I do is pour a generous amount into a measuring cup then scoop it out with a teaspoon. Then pour the remaining bit into the original gallon container. Cuts down on spills/waste this way.

another way is save the QT bottles and refill from the gallons ....

Thanks! And great tips, I will say I noticed that as well I was spilling it everywhere! And after spending money on it, I don't really need to fertilize the floor ha ha.

This is what I do......I try to just keep the QT's no lower than a quarter full up to 3/4 full. It keeps the nutes consistent and easier to shake up because full bottles don't shake and mix well.
I wondered about that too - I noticed the big new bottle of Herc was much thinner than what was coming out of the bottom of my QT's and the end which was very frothy... And I shake them really hard each time...

I switched to 12/12 on Jan 2nd, two months ago. Doesn't it seem like the nugs should be bigger at this point?

I was doing some searches and some say it might be a phosphorus or sulfur deficiency?

Here is another one. The top nugs look almost close to finished, but they are still very small. Does it look like nute lockout?

Pretty crazy how dark my big diesel leaves are, I have never seen fan leaves in this color.

Need some more info.....what strain? What have your last few slurry ph & ppms? what/how do you feed? Have you grown this strain before?

Strain is Blue Kush, started from a clone cutting, never grew it before. I am feeding the pro level regimen minus Poseidonzyme and Hygeia Hydration. Last feed was at 2200 ppm and slurry test is at 6.4pH. This is my first real feed for a while though, because the last three were just HH flushes to get my pH level up to speed.
I had some pH problems a few weeks ago but it has been at 6.0-6.5 for the last few slurry tests. My other plant in the 4th pic is Kripple Roulette, the one where it looks close to finished but the buds are still really small. As you can see it has some symptoms but not as severe.

Most blue strains are light to medium feeders.......what have your slurry ppms been? 2200 ppm feed is HOT, in order to run That high, the plant has to be eating it, the only way to know the plant is eating that much food is if your SLURRIES ppm is in range.

I run the whole line and 1600 ppm is the highest I ever have fed to a heavy feeder......to run 2200 in my opinion takes high CO2 and a shit load of light and know how to use Bloom Khaos. I've run blue strains that I never got feeds over 800 ppm without having issues.

IrieRoots i got Be-1, how do you use it.
Lots of good ways to use it!! There website has loads of info and a feed chart. I like to Topdress with it, I also soak the pellets in my AACT water before a brew as a food source. Be-1 recommends 10 grams per gallon soil, which is approximately 2 level tsp's, so I pretty much use that as a guideline for TopD and as a AACT food source. I start 1/2 strength(1 tsp/gal) once the plant is established and showing vigorous VEG growth, on a TEA/microbes day....a sprinkle of bokashi is good too....then the following two FEEDS I adjust the base NECTAR nutes to 1/2 strength(Medusa/Gaia/Zues) but keep Athenas/Demeters/Herc at regular strength. Check SLURRIES, and now I'm on a FLUSH day, whatever slurry #'s where will dictate the flush recipe. Then I just build from there as the pellets dissapear, I TopD dress more and work up to 2 tsp /gal. It's usually every other week, once into late Transition/early bloom is when I like to use BE1 like a TEA. I bubble it with other AACT ingredients but the pellets can also be stirred into water as a NECTAR TEA base for photo+ or SLF, MAMOTH, etc.

now we are showing the skills.......I use Be-1 as top dress 1 time..lol... but good info as food in an ACCT...

I have another end-game question, I'm at about 8.5 weeks into flower now, already harvested one of the three that was ready. The other two, I think they are almost ready, but just in the last day they got dried out because I was gone out of town, and one of them has a lot of fan leaves that are just basically dying now - curling up and yellow/purple (it's a purple strain). I've been doing the flush thing now for close to two weeks. is that just normal for some strains to lose the fan leaves like that at the end, or could it also be a symptom of earlier under-nute, or possibly starting the flush too soon? Haven't done a slurry yet, but last one was around 230, 6.7 - The thing is, the buds are still a little fluffy I think and have some swelling to do, maybe another 5-7 days... Just going to keep doing the flush, but trying to learn for next time. This always seems to happen to me at the very end with dried up fan leaves... Thanks!

What type of light do you use and what is the height from canopy? Should be good to harvest, try to do 1 or 2 plain waters and chop!! What do your trichs look like.....Amber....clear......milky?

Thanks for that, I think I figured out that it was a combination of lights a little too close, combined with the soil getting too dry... As soon as I watered them the flowers swelled up like crazy! I even saw one flower that literally stood up straighter like a leaf will do when watered... pretty cool really (I run a timelapse). But still ,yeah one of the two is done, about 5% amber which is where I usually chop... The other is milky like crazy, but no amber yet, so going to let her keep going another week or so. Also I think it's just normal end of life stuff for the leaves too...

Yeah those leaves will get crispy fast if the root zone gets too dry. I let VEG plants get a little weepy before watering to build a strong rootzone that can handle drought conditions better but once in flower I keep them watered well.

I try to do that ha ha, but I don't know if I succeeded... There's still enough green to justify leaving it a while anyway, I take easily to paranoia, so I'm learning to not chop too early which I've done in the past I think. Still learning.
