DIY with Quantum Boards

4.2 amps x ~55 volts is ~230 watts. I wouldn't run more than 200 watts passive. adding a fan blowing on each heatsink and you'll be fine. Yes, constant voltage to get that current level. the HLG-480h- 54A would probably work for 2. Personally I think 2 on a meanwell HLG-320h-C2800 is about perfect.
@Stephenj37826 Hi Stephen. I've seen the HLG-320h-C2800 recommended (by you/you guys) for two QB96 Elite V2's a few times now, in stead of the HLG-320h-54a which I thought was the recommended driver for two QB96 V2's.

I understand the main differences in the drivers (CV, CC, parallel, series, etc) but why is the constant current (C2800) being recommended now? Is it solely because series wiring is more simple for novice diy'ers?

Thanks for your time and any light you (and others) can shed on these options.

Not much difference besides wiring really.

@pop22 and @captainmorgan Thanks for the help with these wire types.

Would this be okay? 18 AWG - 2 Conductor - 600V - Stranded Conductor - Unshielded - VNTC Tray Cable
This appears to be twin wires (red and black). View attachment 4290699

If, so is this the only wire that I need? @pop22 you stated: "I use wagos just prior to the board and a short piece of solid wire from the wago to the boards. "

Is this a solid core wire, a different wire type?

Thank you guys! 8-)
I might get my ass in gear to clean the tent today. I will take pictures of my light so you can see what's going on. I did make a video of when I put it together. I had to tape a selfie stick to my kitchen chair to hold my phone. I went over how to solder and connect everything. The video came out like shit because I had no one to hold the camera, I also couldnt figure out how to edit 15 smaller videos into one on my phone and then I needed room on my memory card. So yeah it didnt go the way as planned which sucks because it would have helped alot of ppl. In any case you should get a idea of what's going on when you see the pictures.

I'd love to watch the video if you still have it. I can give you an e-mail address even. I received the wall plugs yesterday in the mail. Everything else is ordered and on its way

Is there any value or point in switching out my 8 bulb T5 for a HLG 100 watt Quantum Board, for vegging. I really want one but do U really need one?

No way (in my opinion)... I just bought a T5HO 8 bulb 4 foot fixture for veg. I love those lights -- they provide an outstanding spread of quality light for veg. LED might be slightly more efficient (even though T5's are already extremely efficient), I think the trade off in having a better spread of light over a larger foot print is more valuable during veg. Just IMO though... I would use LED more for flower, but that's me.

Hey man, sorry I was not able to get around to taking pictures. my family came over yesterday and my nephew spent the night. I will be hopefully able to clean the tent tomorrow though. I will have them to you at some point in the evening tomorrow if not before.

Thanks bud! That's super helpful. Currently have four HLG QB 324 V2's with drivers sitting in the dinning room. They'll be super helpful I'm sure. Especially since two 20 lb CO2 tanks, regulator/flow gauge, and Titan Saturn 6 environmental controller are on their way! Yay! CO2 ppm in the space currently is around 250 ppm (ouch!). Would like to bring up to 900-1000 ppm and rock those lights in there! Super appreciate your help and efforts!

Actually, the efficiency of T5 is around 25% vs 50+% for LED strips like the QB 96 strip. I just converted a T5 light using them. I have the better spread, more light and am using less power, win win!

Chuckin time ....

King Kong Poison #4
( Hazeman Seeds )

Pollen :
DEEP CHUNK ( Monkey Balls ) Tom Hills

Met a grower that ironically I met thru work and found out this guy is a breeder / tester.
He offered some gear and gave me this pollen from a male he culled and dried.
Got some black cherry soda and a few other goodies from my new “ bud “ .

The King Kong was originally a solo grow for one of the ongoing cup dick swing challenges on now.
Since too many crybabies , paranoid and obvious cheaters , I pulled plant out and up potted.
She is in week 2 of flower so it is perfect to knock up. Deep Chunk is supposedly a heavy Indy so it’s perfect for adding to the Kong ( GG4 X Durban Poison ) .....

Thanks ( you know who you are ) :bigjoint:.... big thanks.

1 gallon bag
FFOF ( bottom 1/3 )
Recipe 420 ( fill )
1/4 cup FF light warrior ( myco charge )
Tap 6.4

Plant on soil only feed from beginning ( water only )
12/12 light cycle from transplant ( solo )

Soil is holding strong without any noticeable depletion so I am NOT going to feed with Nutes.
It’s works damn well right out of the bag mixing these 2 up. A little perlite and all good.

Here is a small 1 gallon I cut yesterday. Nothing but the soil feeding the plant.

Picked 3 lower sites to pollinate ( marked ) .
LST only trained .

She parked under the Core build and growing very well.

So I can’t wait to chop these in a week or so to make more room.
