Mind me asking what rh and temp your dry room is? And do you trim green or hang the whole plant? Nobody better to ask then a guy with a name like yours.
I trim fresh off the plants and only take enough at a time to last a couple hours. Taht way the leaves are still turgid and stick out from the buds making them easy to snip out. If they sit around longer than that they go all limp amd gum up the Fiskars really fast.

I put the trimmed buds in doubled paper bags and keep them down in my unheated basement where atm it is 48F and 32% RH. A bit too dry so I keep the bags of buds in a container like tupperware or anything to keep moisture in. I'll take that out and dump the buds into a tray once a day for the first few days and let the bags dry out as they get really damp when in a container. If left out they will dry in a week or so and I like at least 3 weeks of slo-drying at this stage. Mold is a definite threat but with the colder temp it doesn't start so easy. After about a week I usually don't even take them out of the bags any more but just gently shake the bag on it's side to loosen up the buds.

Weighing the bags and keeping track lets you know how fast they are drying and once an oz of buds. (about 100g when fresh), is only losing about 1g/day they go into plastic tobacco cans for burping. Like starting with fresh buds they get dumped out to air dry for 15 min or so the first few days then just opened and shook around a bit each day for up to a month total in the cans. Loosens the buds and exchanges the air. The tobacco cans have smooth insides so a large clump of buds slides out easily and doesn't have to be dug out like with mason jars which are fine for storage once the buds are done drying in the cans. I only fill the cans about half while drying and have different sizes. 0.5L, 1L and 2L. Make good plant pots so at least I get something back from 50 years of smoking that shit! :D Day 4 of quitting and just using an e-cig to get over the cravings.

The early slo-drying breaks down the starches into sugars and gets rid of the chlorophyll so the buds aren't green and smell like hay. Just smell like terpenes and goodness! :)

Freshly trimmed.
