No argueing the points of should adults be able to choose to smoke or if it may be arguably legal to do so.

Arguing with parents over weed at all is childish at any age.

The first conflicting conversation about weed should be the first clue it's time to fly.

Even so ... parents' house, parents' rules.
If [person] seeks other rules, seek other location.

Why is there a floor to ceiling window adjacent to this shower

Who designed this house, for fuck’s sake?
One of the homes I grew up in was a very old brick house that had a window right where the shower was.

I suspect the house was built before running water and the bathroom later built from another type room.

We took it out.

Sure it's childish. I would simply refuse the test and state that its my business.

I had a parent that reefer madness down my throat for years even after I moved out.

After many years of debating the subject that parent changed thier mind towards cannabis.

I wouldn't say to argue over it. At the same time I I've always been open about being pro cannabis. I wouldn't flaunt it when smoking. Normally I would step off somewhere to smoke if visiting.

I started my first business at an early age as well.

I never lived in my car though, that must have been tough...
Sort of, but not really. I could visit my mom when ever I wanted to. Just a 2-3 hour drive from home. It was a real adventure, doing construction, sleeping on roof tops in suburban ATLANTA or on the hood of my car or wherever I wanted to.... except in a nice warm bed.

I remember hanging in Atlanta with a couple college friends after we were out of school.

We took the MARTA busses everywhere so we could get plastered and not have to drive. Still remember the blonde cockroaches, the good old days.

I never rode the bus except once when a concert ran late and I had used the train to get to the omni. I usually stayed up around the north side outside the perimeter.

Dont worry our asses are extremely loose. Jerking off more often and with partners is a bit of a stretch of the term 'joke' especially when buried in a long winded response. As long as you laughed right?
@Indagrow
You got me on that one, I am very long winded...
I need to work on getting to the point faster...

Thanks for being honest.

You suggested he ruins his relationship with his folks with legal action...

Really?
@srh88
As far as ruining his relationship with his folks....
That ship has sailed...

The "demand" letter is merely a way for him to set up boundaries that his folks can respect.
Because going through someones mail suggests they have no boundaries and zero respect for their adult son (they may have reasonable cause, I don't know).

This is why I also suggested he make up a rental agreement and get a P.O. Box.

For clarification...
I never suggested he actually sue his parents, people keep reading into what I said...
A "demand" letter is not legal action, it is merely a reminder that legal action could result...
That's all...

The letter was a bluff...

Not knowing his family history, I am not sure if the boundary violation was "warranted" or "necessary" but taken from face value, he is 19, he's an adult who is paying his way and he should be able to have some boundaries.
Even if the place he is living at is his parents home...

I am totally down with "house rules" like no smoking in the house or within so many feet of the house, etc., but what this adult does with their own time is their business.

People rebel when you put pressure on them.
The best thing his parents can do is stand a bit back, put down some basic ground rules and wait for when he falls, if he falls.
If he doesn't learn from his mistakes, he is never going to learn.

If he succeeds, then so be it...

If people don't try, then they become curmudgeons at a young age and that is a terrible place to be.
There is plenty of time in this kids future for him to lose hope in humanity, society, the world, but right now he's 19, invincible, and full of hope. Let him try some things out and get an idea of how things work before he's chained to a cubicle for the rest of his life.

We're so focused on protecting people, that we forget, sometimes you have to fall in order to learn some of life's lessons.

I still remember a girl putting ExLax in a birthday cake once many years ago.

Fortunately, I was briefed in advance.

Never totally understood that one.
@tangerinegreen555

When I was a kid I found a "chocolate bar" in the fridge and ate a bunch of it before my mom found me.
She calmly said to me, "Sweetie stop eating that, that's a laxative"

"What's a laxative?"

"it makes you go poop"

"I like to poop"

Me about 20 minutes later....

That gif is fucking disgusting. I love it. RIU has a max of 10mb for pics/gifs, your gif was almost 70mb. That's pretty shitty...

Sure makes you appreciate a hot meal, hot shower and warm dry bed even years later, doesn't it ;)
