How many of you keep your lights in a closed loop?

Do you cool your lights with the air inside your tent, or do you dedicate a fan to your lights in a closed loop to cool them with air from outside the tent? I've been running the closed loop with air just coming from the right side of the tent, through the light, and out the fan on the other side. I have no automation except for my home AC thermostat and I must say the closed loop definitely keeps that 600w HPS chilly

The reason most use a closed loop (air from outside tent) is so they do not have to filter the stinky air before exhausting it to the neighbors

you must keep your house pretty cool if that keeps your light and grow area sufficiently cool.
i have a 400 and a 600 in a 4x8 area, and run a 6 inch fan, wide open, vented outside. it keeps it at about 80 in my grow room, while i keep my house at 74.

They're both open systems, technically. A closed loop would be a fully contained system such as hood > ducting > cooling radiator > fan > ducting > hood

I cool two 1000s in hoods, drawing through a Y pipe between them so they're cooled equally. It's in a 4.5x9ft area pulling ambient basement air anywhere from low 60-low 70s and I never see over 90 at the worst of summer. They're cooled with a 6" mid-400cfm fan, with a small booster fan because of the duct work, both running 100%. The room is vented separately on another mid-400cfm on a dimmer and only runs at 100% for a month or two during the heat of summer. Until I can get AC I try to run hotter climate strains in the summer.

Yeah I just exhaust into the room the tent is in...I live in a 2br apartment so it's really easy to keep this place cold. I can't open windows or cut holes to vent anywhere so I just send it into the room. . Between the exhaust fan, light fan, and ceiling fan that room is windy as fuck lol...I just keep the door to the room open and my temps never go above 77...If I shut the door and leave the house AC off for awhile I've only seen it get as hot as 82

I used my lights like that running CO2 with air cooled hoods. This way I could keep the AC and CO2 in the room and still pull off about 30% of the heat from the lights. Now I run double ended and just use the AC to cool my room.
