Haha.....I used to put way too much compost in my brews too!! Now I keep it to a 1/4 C per gallon. Especially when brewing a simple tea with 2 oz. fish aminos or 20 ml Of molasses as the feedstock. As I add more food stock, I up the compost amount I use. Its all a balance to achieve optimum brews. "The Microbe Man" website breaks down the very best ratios of TEA inputs to reach best results. Adding too much compost can be detrimental if there isn't enough food to feed them, and at the same time you can't just add more food to correct the off balance as it begins to effect the dissolved oxygen levels!!I Keep it simple!!
with that and ph of 7.8 it could been a disaster .. lucky to catch on quick and fix it .....
