Can you identify the deficiency?

Hi guys, wanted some of your expert opinions on this showing in slightly older leaves, new growth appears unaffected so far.

Week 5 veg - red cherry berry - barneys farm.

Rain water - starting ppm around 35
18/6
250w hps
Lights on 26c RH 60%
Lights off 20c RH 70%
Cana coco pro plus with 30% perlite
5 gal fabric pot (just potted up)
GH trio nutes + cal mag
Calmag 5ml/gallon
Micro 2.5m/gallon
Gro 2.5ml/gallon
Bloom 1.25ml/gallon
Straight rain water with cal mag every other water always with 20% runoff

Have fed really cold (3/4c) water twice.

PH feed/water I vary between 5.5/6.0/6.3
PPM usually around the 550’s with run off ph usually around 0.5/0.7 oh higher.

This leaf was taken from mid plant, with no new growth appearing affected. It is worth noting that for the first 2/3 weeks of feeding, I didn’t alternate with straight water with cal mag.

Any idea what I’m seeing? It doesn’t appear as though it’s a massive issue, and this leaf (and it’s opposite) had started yellowing before I noticed the brown spots.

Any opinions welcome!

I run this from day 20 till finish. Cut in half for seedlings. I just think you need to up the fert. And check ph calibration.

Water at least twice a day 2-4 cups each.

5 gallons of water
1tbs Epsom
15ML calmag
35ML bloom
25ML micro

Ph down to 6.

Always make sure your PH pen is accurate and your comfortable with its results. Even I’m guilty of trusting a pen for too long and messing up some plants. I’m not saying it’s what’s happening here but anything’s possible.

Having a few older lower leaves start to die of is not necessarily a bad thing. Certainly nothing to lose your noodle over, I don't get the impression you are.... IMO it just means you are feeding JUST enough.
That's one reason I hardly ever cut off any leaves, the plant will cannibalize itself, letting me get it back into balance before it begins to suffer too much. I gave one good sized plant in Coco N tox one time, went completely sideways, twisted growth, some branches started flowering, ever since then I been somewhat guilty of underfeeding...

Thanks for the input bud. I have two ph pens which I calibrate every couple of weeks and use both when testing PH because I’m paranoid, and litmus paper for when I don’t trust either!

Yea I was thinking the same, though the inclusion of the brown spots made me consider that something might be, or have been slightly out. Certainly not losing my
mind over it, just always nice to get some more opinions in case I have missed something! I have a feeling it may have stemmed from when I was not alternating nutrient feed with plane calmagd water, but that’s just a hunch!

Not sure the cold water helped, but try to keep it between 20-23c now!

I know how that goes, even have used baking soda and distilled water. Lol

Any other opinions on this? @Beachwalker ?
@Blitz35 ?

Edit: here’s a few pics of the whole plant and some other affected growth. I’ll get some in better lighting tomorrow.

Some fans out here with 12+ leaves lol

What is your rain water PPM? Take new pictures without the HPS please. What is your substrate?

Better lighting for ya!

Rain water Starts at around 35ppm, once nuted is around 550-600ppm.

Growing in Cana coco pro with 30% perlite.

It looks like it's not getting enough food. You only fed once?
Lol noo dude, i don’t know where you got that from. I feed nutrients in the levels in the original post, and straight water with calmag every other feed... oh maybe that’s the confusion! I don’t mean every other feed has been water lol I mean I alternate, one feed, one water, one feed, one water etc lol.

The leaves look like they had some Cal. def. to me (maybe bit of Mag. def as well, but just a guess because i cant see the lower part of your plant).
Overall they look like they need more grow juice and a steady cal/mag absorption

Yea sorry dude was in a bit of a rush and the shot I got of lower is pretty crap!

I did think the same with regards to the calcium, it’s all I could think of other than maybe manganese, though it has had 5ml/gallon of cal mag every feed, so unless it got a bit hot momentarily before I started alternating calmag’d water with feeds, and caused a temporary lock up, I don’t know how it would be deficient. I know coco likes to grab hold of calcium and magnesium, but the cana coco I’m using is pre buffered so I don’t know!

Better pictures, thank you.

Try feeding every watering. It looks like you are multi-deficient, also a Zinc deficiency However what you are feeding should be enough. Try feeding every watering and keep your pH at 5.8 but don't float higher than 6.0 and water temp 65-75.

Interesting information: https://www.ilovegrowingmarijuana.com/marijuana-nutrient-deficiency-zinc/

I don't think you're feeding as much as you think you are, that plant is hungry. Calibrate your ph meter just to make sure, but that plant needs more food. A plant at that stage should be good at about 1.0 EC or 500 ppm on the 500 scale, 700 on the 700 scale.... You could skip the water and calmag for a feed, feed, feed schedule, that should make a difference.

Yup I agree hence the multi deficient symptoms. I'm in a very similar substrate to him with the same nutrients. I simply feed a low PPM every feeding (daily). The Zn def. signs surprised me. But he swings his pH to 6.3 so that would explain the Zn.
