Looking at buying a 315 cmh fixture for a 2x4 tent but 3k full phase bulbs are out of stock, they do offer a 3k-r (red enhanced) will this work? Only looking at a 2 plant set up for now, so will this run 2 plants start to finish with a 3k-r bulb or should I go with 4 k veg bulb?
Thanks in advance for input

Well ones I'm looking at are out of 3k but do have 3k red enhanced, that's really what I was needing to know if red enhanced is a big deal or not
Thanks

How far away is your light? I usually have the opposite effect. My plants usually stay pretty short with CMH. I keep my light at least 20" from canopy. I raised my light 2 inches a few weeks ago and the plants stretched immediately. You really have to find the sweet spot with CMH. Unfortunately, my first grow with CMH yielded me with light and fluffy buds. Not very dense or compact nugs. Since then, I've added full spectrum 300w LED and 600w HPS to help get the buds more tightly packed. The quality was great with just CMH, but quantity suffered a bit. I didnt have a lot dialed in properly either. Temps were off, nutes were minimal, water wasnt ph balanced, humidity wasnt even considered. There were lot of newbie mistakes on my first grow. Now everything is getting better regulated for my second grow. Temps are controlled with inkbird temp controller, humidity fixed with dehumidifier (soon will be purchasing an inkbird humidity controller) but humidity is staying pretty constant with dehumidifier and doesnt seem to need much regulation at this point in time. The addition of 600w HPS helped spread light in my 5x5 tent. I hear others saying a single 315 is fine for a 4x4, but I find it hard to believe that one 315 cmh will yield what you really want. Maybe for 4 plants max a single 315 would be ok.

What do you think a 315 cmh/lec should yield? 2 such lights yielded 26 oz of finished buds for me.. 15 weeks from seed.. 2 315 watt lights would cover a 5'x5' .. A two pound yield with two 315 watt lights seems possible, if your skills are up to it..

I guess we will see how my second grow skills are!! Everything looks much better with the addition of 600w HPS. I think that maybe the dual bulb 630w CMH I use would be better off split into two fixtures for better coverage. The single fixture for two bulbs seems kind of limiting. What is your preferred light distance with 315 CMH?

I keep my 315’s about three foot from the tops to try and get them to stretch a bit more. I run a couple of nano lux 315’s in one of my rooms and they perform well cover really well.

I run my 315s at 24",one light for each plant.. My last two screens were only 24"x32".. Next grow i'll be using 32"x36" screens.. I think you could get 3 lbs using 3 of these lights.. If you do everything right...

Yea it was pretty high. About 3 feet above canopy. I was getting about 2 or 3 inches of stalk before the next node. Now I have a quantum and I don't think I could be happier
