There not forming the nug on top its all leaf..there are bud sites coming up the stalks im prob just not used to the hps im just worried and wanna fix the problem if there was one. 4 of my tops look like that the others have nigs on top

I was suspecting heat stress because my light was about 6 inches off tops so i moved it up to about 12 inches

No its hps this is my first hps grow i was useing led i will take more pics sec

6in HID, definitely too close, so you're right about the stress. Example - my 315 CMH are 20 - 24 inches above the plants.
12 inches might be too close too, what wattage & type? Hood cooled?

Sun system 1000w dimmable. No cooling. But good ventilation

I have 5 planti in a 4x4 room no room to realy tie em down...what happens if i chop some of the top?

Not a bad idea, I've done it before as late as late week 4 - the buds on either side where you topped it will grow big...

It sucks this was my best go yet the stalks on the colas are as thuck a a pencil.and a foot obove the canopy.im pretty sure they were gonna produce im gonna try to tie em down first but ill prob be covering up more bud sites to tie 3 down

If I get it right, minimum of 15in. I put my hand about 6 or 8 inches below the light until it gets hot then I lower my hand until it's only warm, that's the distance I used when I had MH/HPS running.

Im prob gonna lose alot of yield because of this ?
