Quantum board question for a 3x3

Would running two qb 288’s on a hlg 320h-c2800 as opposed to a HLG 240 be worth it? I’m worried in a 3x3 things could get too hot. HLG says themselves the slate 6 heatsink is only good for cooling up to 300 Watts. But growers lights has a 320 watt XW kit that’s essentially a 260w kit that runs on a 320h-c2800 driver for increased output (can’t link it because I don’t have any likes yet lol)Extra wattage would be nice but I want to keep temps cool so with that said would it be better to just stick with the 260 kit?

You can always use the dimmer
Exactly.
If you have the option to buy the higher wattage fixture, always do. They can be dimmed if need be. But you can't get that extra dim UP if the driver just doesn't have it to begin with. Always always always buy bigger than needed in LED If a choice has to be made.

True but the hlg 260 which run on a 240 driver can still put out close to 300 Watts (285 is the max I believe). If I go with the 320h-c2800 for two boards the max I can run them is at 320w. So an upgrade of roughly ~35 Watts and it would likely put out significantly more heat while losing some efficiency. Also the larger driver would increase the cost by roughly 50$. Is that even worth it?

Hoestly I don’t think you will notice 35 extra watts make or breaking you. But that’s My opinion not stated on facts. I think the negatives out way the positives IF you’re going to stay with that size tent.

2 boards in a fixture sideways is ideal for a 3 x 3. For temp and coverage they are pretty sweet.

I would go with the 320 watt version on growers choice. 25 bucks more and they build it. You can save with DIY

You can run it from about 50 to 320 watts with screws you turn (jewelers or glasses screwdriver).

Good coverage for the space and probably a bit cheaper than 4 vero cobs

I wouldnt call 35w a significant amount of heat. $50 for an extra ounce of bud I would say that's a decent deal

You can lower the tent temperature by moving the LED driver outside the tent. Mount your LED driver & dimmer pot on an aluminum cookie sheet heat sink and hung it outside. Keep everything kewl.
