Foxtails?

I am growing under a 600W (actual draw) LED about 22 inches from the highest point of my plants. I am less than 2 weeks away from harvest, and I started noticing some strange looking growth at the tips of some buds. There seems to be a thin stem with some bracts poking up from the top of some of the buds. Some of the smallest buds that are not getting much light are also showing this strange growth, although some of the colas show this too. It has been cold in the room (15- 22C, or about 60-70 degrees F), and I can't change that. This is my first grow so i am not sure if this is normal growth, or if it is a "foxtail" forming. It may be hard to see and not all the pictures I shared show the behavior.

thats just wanting more light

I've never seen it first hand but all the reading Ive been doing they seem to look just like your first one.

I'm of the belief that 22" is way to far away for a 600w led, as long as you can get the proper spread.

What is strange is that the buds that are getting extra light from a supplemental 80W COB LED are showing this the most. There are also regions showong this that are in low light. So may be I have too little light and too much light in different areas of the tent.

Foxtails happen from various things .....

Heat , strain , extra growth , etc..... Sativas also express this .
not much of an issue , smokes just fine.
Finger buds can look gnarly but grind up just fine for rolling .
If I cut the ugly growth off now, would anything bad happen to those buds? I picked a couple of the weirdest looking ones off yesterday. Hoping that wasn't a bad idea.

What distance is more optimal? I'm using a Viparapectra v1200.

You are causing unnecessary stress to “ ripening “ flowers ..... think about that for a minute.

Why start hacking shit for ZERO reason. ?

Although there is a technique known as BackBuilding , which one snips 1/8” off tip of early buds .
Which only makes a barrel / pine cone shape which is for bag appeal , not really adding weight.
But that is a topic for another thread. Been there done that.

Final word .... just let be. Harvest it ( when it’s ready of course ) and move on.
