I have a 55x55x76 tent with a 1000w hps in a air cooled vent connected to a 6 in inline fan and a speed dial & with a carbon filter hooked up,, it's definitely way too hot in it,, & my inline fan sucks the tent in horribly,, this is gonna be my 5th grow outta it,,, trying to get the heat down some how & suction of my tent from the inline fan.. Should I buy a bigger tent or go with smaller lights?? Any info is highly appreciated... Also I have a magnetic ballast,, the place I bought all the stuff from didn't know what they were talking about.... Also what is best digital ballast for $ that won't break after a month...

Greetings.

Tried a intake fan to counter the negative pressure? Sucking out 650cfm, intake 650cfm.

I usually keep some neg pressure on the room. Just me though.

I prefer magnetic ballasts over digital for RFI/EFI issues. I have and do use digitals still.

I hate solistek Matrix and the lower model. Had both and they spiked the area with RFI and burnt out way early. Customer service was a joke. I do like these xtrasun digitals from hydrofarm. They have been working for a couple of years and no issues.

Good luck.

Also you can use a pass thru on the hood. Means instead of sucking air from the carbon filter inside, pull air from outside through the hood and out the exhaust. Which should help a little with heat and stop neg pressure. Make sense? (Couple bowls in)

Hook up separate air flow for tent and this will give you the ability to control the environmentals better like low humidity.

Ok so take another in line fan & hook it up to my fresh air intake? It's winter time here

That's what I was thinking myself,, well thought of it that way but it wasn't making much sense trying to put it together,, I don't use co2 only fresh air,, so how would I hook up my carbon filter? Also how would I get fresh air then? Also thanks about the ballast,, Do you see any difference on your lighting bill?

That goes on the new exhaust. You will need an intake fan as well or open bottom vent's on the tent if you don't want to suck tent side's in. But yeah kinda setup like running co2 with air control basically. So 3 fans pretty much or some variation.

Ok how could I control the air intake on that with it being winter here,, it would be blowing too much cold air in

The room the tent is in. Not outside the house air. Sorry if I'm not clear.

Just put more ducting on the hood to make the hood pull air from the room it's in and not inside the tent.

Ok so what ur saying is unhook my carbon filter from my hood,, put ducting too outside of tent,, then I buy another in line fan,, & run my carbon filter off of that?

Awesome man thanks,, I'll give it a try,, sorry it's easier for me to learn hands on instead of reading... Now about the carbon filter,, how to run that? Or could I leave it inside of my tent & just use more ducting out a vent? To my inline fan

Ok,, I'm understaning some of it,, if I'm pulling outside air thru my hood,, what do I replace my fresh air intake with?

Ok,, now what air is getting exhausted out because if I used the air to the hood it would reek of bud,, even tho I'm legal still don't want the neighborhood to find out
When you add the other fan connect it to the filter. In the meantime you can connect the filter to that new ducting outside the tent and it should still scrub the room air

Ok I'll see what I can do,, but also how do I get fresh air in the tent since a fan will be hooked to the hood & my air intake & going out

Vents at the bottom of the tent using passive or add a intake fan as well like I was saying up there (3 fans total), then it should mitigate all of the original issues.

Ok 3 inline fans,, I just tried the vents,, still too much suction force on tent,, guess I'll invest in fans,, so I'll have a inline hooked to my hood,,, a inline hooked to carbon filter,, & what's 3 for? I can post pics also

Something doesn't add up here? Three inline fans for a tent? One fan connected to the cool tube (no contact with stinky air). One fan to exhaust heat and to pull in fresh air with carbon filter attached. What is the third on for?

Hood is closed system draws air from outside of tent and exhausted outside of tent.

Intake and exhaust fans for tent.

He doesn't want to neg pressure. I suggested more of a sealed setup.
