Illinois medical marijuana card wait time

Seeing all these posts about people being 90+ days makes me want to cry! My application was received 11/12/18, so half way there I guess...what a damn deal

I’m going to vent a bit.
This is why big Govt is a waste of tax payer dollars. Submitted online directly from the physicians office 12/19/18. Receipt from IDPH 12/19/18. At this rate I’m looking at mid/end of 03/19. The physician qualified me under spinal cord nerve damage and said my condition will be approved 100%. Yet the Govt controls the Physicians diagnosis due to bureaucratic red tape in IL. No other MMJ State is taking 90 days to issue. IL taxes keep rising. IL is #50 out of 50 States in terms of Financial health. We lost over 141k net residents in 2018. 1600 companies m0ved out of IL in 2018. These companies accounted for 76Billion in gross revenue. Politicians in IL have ruined this state over the past 10 years. The good news? The Federal Farm Bill signed 2 weeks ago now made Hemp Legal federally, meaning it’s no longer a Sch 1 drug ... and that helps pave the path for Cannabis to be next within 3 years. More good news? As more and more States incorporate MMJ, we will see reciprocity between states, just as CA honors IL MMJ. A person will ALWAYS want to keep their medical card over recreational for two reasons 1) MUCH lower taxation at dispensaries 2) higher quality cannabis due to tighter lab testing. Why buy the average stuff when you can buy the good stuff.
Last thing ... From my understanding, the provisional letters should begin on or around Jan 18th-31st, which means people like myself will be sent a letter to utilize dispensaries prior to the actual card being mailed ... so my expectation is the wait time, now that we’ve entered 2019, should be another 3-4 weeks, but still a total of 90 days for actual receipt of card.
I’m happy to expand for anyone who may have questions. Ugh. Happy New Year fellow #legallyhealed humans.

I wouldn’t count on those provisional letters.

To be honest, I'm not sure this is new information. It doesn't sound concrete, and it's not sourced. Rather, it sounds like another of the vague semi-informed guesses we've heard from a few sources in recent weeks.

Sounds a lot like the different stories from IDPH, we know how those go. Although this one was a little higher up.

So 5 months, 3 days after signing the law to give out letters for access, the way IDPH started out having licenses to give people access, the way IDPH managed to get people access when the printer was down, IDPH will start sending out letters to give people access.
But I guess when you think 3 months is a reasonable waiting period to approve sick people, 5 months to implement a new program just like you've done twice before is breaking records.

I think nobody will care to dig into the 90 day waiting period because it was fixed 8/28.
I wouldn't doubt if that was the reason it was signed. No, I didn't cause any waiting period, I signed provisional access, remember.

Politicians in IL have ruined this state over the past 10 years.

I think it's been going on much longer than 10 years.

I wouldn’t count on those provisional letters.

Much more likely they won't wait a full 90 days than my hope it would happen soon after Dec 1st.
But I do expect delay and probably a royal screwing, something like those who applied on January 28th wait, those who apply on January 31st go to the dispensary.

Nothing would surprise me with this fucked up corrupt state. Why people keep electing these shitheads is beyond me.

Anyone know what time mail shows up on the informed delivery dashboard? I know I get emails at 8-9 am but I’m wondering do they show up in dashboard when you get the email?

Two things showed up, it wasn’t one of them. I doubt they missed scanning it. Another day of this fucking bullshit wait because of an asshole shit state.

Informed delivery shows nothing again for me today. Heres to hoping its a mistake and will be in my mailbox later. Day 92 here

Wow. Sorry to hear about the delay guys and gals. The wait will be worth it. I’ve been consuming cannabis for many years but having access to very specific strains ant a moments notice has helped with pain but also no more sleepless nights.

Be patient and await the good things to come.

Well Said, and also, Illinois is being so Stupid. The sooner you get People into the Dispensary, the sooner they get their sales tax cut. Delaying things 3 Months Helps No ONE.

I know this sucks, but about 2 weeks ago?? someone got their card and it was not listed in informed delivery.
Yup, ive been hoping that’s the case. Though, when multiple people say nothing in ID that morning I lose a little hope. Doubtful that multiple image scans screw up... I’ll see at 3pm I guess!

I just called the department.... At the first try, I got an automated system stating due to high call volume that they are not taking calls at this time and to call back later.... So I called back and I got through. The woman was very short with me and stated that they are only on the beginning of October and maybe in 2-3 weeks they will be at the end of October.... Also, the woman said 90 days is the standard.....
