a victim of what, following standard wrestling tournament haircut guidelines?
How about the way he (Andrew Johnson) was forced to have his hair cut in front of everyone, strangers, classmate's, etc in a rushed and non professional manner, with scissors that were not specified for cutting hair, those are fabric sissors with sharp tips look at the video/photo, how can you say this is not dangerous? Let me guess, would you recommend someone be shaved with a bare razor blade for the entire head?
Since when has any barber you've ever seen asked you to stand straight up while they cut you hair? And again this Woman could and should have been more gentle, and probably should have never been given authority to take such an action in the first place.
How can you really say this wasn't an abusive use of power over the young man, seriously? How do we know this wasn't some form of misinformation abuse on the coach's, teachers part? How can you really say this coach hadn't planned to embarrass the student beforehand?
How can you be sure there was no laughter out in the crowd that the young man heard before that fight/match, why are you so quick to jump to conclusions about a possible victim, and then add your own adopted racial flare to a thread that didn't deserve to have you add your negative input?
The braids/locks the young man had could have been part of his culture or even religion and look at how much anyone there cared? It's easy for people without or with lost culture to not feel the importance of seriousness of another person's culture and/or way of life. This is why it is important to keep at least some form of culture so that we can avoid making such impulsive, inconsiderate and thoughtless acts towards each other, and have a better future, at least it can be a start.
But look how quickly this story gained World attention, I for one am glad it was filmed and was brought to the attention of society, I don't however know for certain how the young man at the center of this would feel about us or anyone taking this to a level of hate or aggression, I don't know the young man or anything about him, but I would hope that he would want this story that has caused so much attention will bring some positivity out into the world.
Its when we elevate a story past what the real lesson of the story was, and then add the mix of prejudice and possibly hate into the situation that a story can take a different form, which can lower our understanding of the lesson as a whole.
