Seed shell on plant

Ive just planted 3 seeds after my first ever attempt growing a single plant which turned out to be male. Its been 3 days and there about 1cm high but one of the plants has got a seed shell stuck on the top holding in the leaves. I tried to tap it off but is stuck tight. My question is does it matter? Will it grow and fall off naturally?

I had the same problem recently. After a few beers, I decided it would be a good idea to remove the shell casing. I removed the entire top... :wall:

It may not be a problem after only three days.

Spray the stuck pod w/water to soften it up. It'll fall off, or you can remove it once it's softened, very carefully.
Don't spray too enthusiastically or I suppose you could cause your stalk to fall over and pinch.

Its wearing its helmet.... :)...It should come off by itself.. try to remove... and then sometimes they just stop there..
*Don't OD on water to remove..If its bugging you that much take some tweezers and squeeze it a BIT... Wait..... Luck.

Im having that same problem with a bagseed i recently planted. i woke up happy to

see she(hopefully its a girl) had popped thru the soil but the whole head was traped

in the seed shell. Trying to get it of proved some what difficult so i got my fingertips

wet and and moistened the seed shell, then gently peeled the 2 halves off. There is

only the 2 cotyledon(spelling?) leaves which are still pale-whitish and no sign of the 2

small serated leaves common in seedlings. i placed her under a 15 watt CFL to see if

a little light would help spark some growth. shes been under the light since

about 6am this morning so about 2 hours now. I ll try to post a pic of her later on

this afternoon and u can compare it to yours. But i have seen plants start like this

and grow up to be perfectly healthy- and potent - plants.

P.S.- I also had to get a tooth pick and seperate the 2 cotyledon and remove some

of the thin, clear membrane that coats the inside of the seed, then spread them

apart hopefully i dident traumatize her to bad.

mine had similar problems, i fiddled with the shell every day! it got looser and looser and eventually came off. The first set of leaves looked a bit mutant like but the next set came through fine!

remember guys these are plants they know how and when its proper time to do certain shit. carefully trying to rip off the part thats nurishing it especially at 3 days not a big deal .

Wait it out, i've had a plant do this, it will outgrow the shell, they don't call them pod busters for nothing. Also expect the pod busters to die off later.

when that happened to me, the first set of leaves looked all f*cked up. i nicknamed this plant.. the retard plant. a month later, it finally started to thrive and things were going good. then after about 2 weeks of being in 12/12 it showed me it was a male. i murdered that bastard that nite. it lived to fullfill its destiny. death of unnatural causes.

It happened to me on this grow. Had three seeds come through, two were fine, the shells came off before they came up through the ground. The third however, had the shell stuck on really well. I tried water to get it off, no luck.

After two weeks with the shell not coming off, I thought it'd die if its leaves didn't get any light soon. It was almost two inches tall by then. I took a really small very sharp knife and had to cut the fuker off.

It started growing fine after that except that it is half the size of its sisters and the same age. Just the spaces between branches is a lot closer (I forget what that's called).

Other than it's size, it doesn't seem to have anything wrong with it. In fact, it's probably my healthiest plant.

Apparently this happens when the seeds arent planted deep enough. I dont think its something to be worried about unless there still like it after a week or so. Once i took the seed off, the 1st sets of leaves did look abit retarded but didnt seem to make any difference once the next leaves come through. I have no problems now
All 3 of my tiny little plants are coming along fine. 1st pic is when i had my seed issue, its difficult to make out whats going on. 2nd pic is today
