Illinois medical marijuana card wait time

I tried calling again today starting this morning. I've called 130 times today, and every single call goes directly to the recorded 'call back another time' outgoing message.

I thought I'd be clever and try the next phone number after 1-855-636-3688, in other words, 1-855-636-3689. When there are multiple phone lines available at a given number, this is often how it works - when the given number is busy, calls then 'overflow' to the numbers that follow it.

It turns out the next number after 1-855-636-3688 is assigned to a private business, unrelated to the IDPH.

This tells me that the IDPH has only ONE phone line for incoming calls. One phone line = one person answering calls, for the many thousands of applicants and potential applicants seeking to have questions answered about their health. WTF kind of shit is that?

Nice try. They probably have a routing system for the 3+ people that work there. Too bad you didn’t get a call girl service or Governor Rauner lmao. Now that would be awesome!!!

Btw it took me over 300 calls to get through when I called last time. Keep trying...

I asked her twice to clarify and both times she said the system shows my card was "printed" 12/6. Not mailed, not sent to the printer, but "printed." I then asked her my approval date to confirm we weren't speaking past each other, and she said approval was back on 11/28.

Make of it what you will.
 
This stuff is crazy. I can't even get a straight answer. But, when you log on and try to apply it tells me I have an active license. When I call I can't get through, have never received anything. This is stupid to say the least. I should be able to at least find out if they mailed the card.

Your 10 days behind me and my card has not yet arrived. My friend from 9/18 hasn’t got theirs either. Not that any of this makes anyone feel better.
 
"Sorry, based on the license(s) you currently hold with the Department of Public Health, you may not start an additional application." Anyone else see that when you try to apply?

I am fine with it, just when I log on it makes it seems as though it was already shipped. You should at least be able to find that out. I just want some of the high CBD strains for my Crohns, PTSD, and Epilepsy. Sick of being sick on all these meds, honestly. I just want real relief.

it would be nice if it worked that way , and it should. but they aren't Amazon , and the best your gonna do is call , ask for information on your card , if it is approved yet , and that's about it. if you ask that question , you will get an answer
 
I just got off the phone with IDPH.

I was approved. I didn’t ask when because I was so excited.

She said that my card was not in the mail yet but would be soon. She said to expect the card in mail in 1 to 2 weeks.

I broke down crying when I got off of the phone. I am so glad that I don’t have to buy my meds off of the street anymore!

Dr Appointment: 9/26
IDPH Received app: 9/26 (online submission)
Approved: Told over phone on 12/12 that I had been approved

I’ve heard great results for Crohns. PTSD will require trial and error with the help of your dispensary. Epilepsy is controlled with CBD. Good luck. I’ll post as soon as mine is received. If you applied online it may be a few days quicker than mail since payment was already cleared.

Congrats!!! That’s awesome!! They seem to be moving quick now! 6 approved days, in just about 3 working days!!

I felt the same way Monday! Had a pep in my step!! Now the harder wait starts, I thought the wait was rough to get approved, this is was tougher! Ha
