Dude. It's the same as before, just one cob less. Positive Wire from driver goes to 1st cobs pos, then connect Neg from 1st cob to positive on 2ND Cob. 2ND cobs neg to 3rd cobs Positive. 3rd cobs neg to 4th cobs pos and lastly , 4th cobs neg back to the drivers Neg wire.I'm confused on the wiring now i have an open circuit
I understand how to wire in series. I gota get a new solider iron mine craped out and i gota take off all the tape and resoilder and rewire everything. I thought maybe i could so something to rig it for tonight.Dude. It's the same as before, just one cob less. Yeah I'll try it out. Either way it's not gettibg fixed tonight.wow that's crazy, you might be able to take a scalpal near where that terminal was and scrape and peel back some of that white shit exposing the electrode, scrape that thing raw tin it up and resolder your wire easy money
Something clearly put way too much stress on that connection, button down the whole thing again make sure that can't happen.
easy peasy. cut the wire on the other side of the cob close to the cob, strip it, and wire nut it to the wire you have that broke off the chip. no soldering requiredI understand how to wire in series. I sniped the other wire to remove the chip so it's 2 wires diconnectedlooks like you had some stress and strain on that wire or may have stressed it when soldering

You can. Twist the 4th cob neg wire to a length of wire long enough to reach the driver neg. Use electrical tape for now.I understand how to wire in series. What about the postive wire? I'm sorry to keep asking dumb questions . I'm decent at growing not with electrical. You can. Twist the 4th cob neg wire to a length of wire long enough to reach the driver neg. Use electrical tape for now.
Positive wire that connects from the broken COB, to the 4th COBs NEG solder pad, is now your last connection that returns to the drivers NEG wire. What about the postive wire? I'm sorry to keep asking dumb questions . I'm decent at growing not with electrical.
yup. connect these.I sniped the other wire to remove the chip so it's 2 wires diconnected
I feel this might be a Biiiiiiit of a stretch.I understand how to wire in series.
Exactly. I guess I was just trying to explain it in more of a whole idea type of thing.yup. connect these.
I have a feeling you wired it wrong...Thanks i did what you guy's said and double checked the polarity. Still couldn't get it to work I'm thinking the driver is bad and the 1212 chip some how broke also.
By the way, I'm thinking your Kapton tape is the culprit to your pads destruction. You should invest in holders or just use the holes to screw them down. That pressure is what helps the heat sink in to the aluminum. Thanks i did what you guy's said and double checked the polarity. What does kapton tape have to do with the whole terminal busting off ? Thermal paste provides a vacuum seal all the tape does is keep the seal.B
