Led strip Opinions pls

Ive found a led strip i like but can guys and girls with more knowledge give me there opinion. And also what drivers will work to run about 10 of them .

Alright, what's the model?

Well, it seems like it's just a generic 20V model... But i have no way to know how high it can go in terms of Amps * Volts. It could be a 10W strip or a 50W strip for all i know

Whats your grow space area?
How many watts per strip are you thinking of?
 
280 to 300 watts should be more than enough...

I don't know enough about the cooling efficiency of those strips, but i suppose they could do 20-25 watts (1-1.25 amp x 20 volt) without an actual heatsink... That remains to be seen though.. If you want to do 300 Watts with 10 strips, that's 30W per strip.

So you'd need a driver that can output constant 20v and at least 15 amps of constant current. I Don't know a driver like that though...

But a cheap alternative is that you can get two Meanwells LRS-150-36, pair them up in series (the strips), and run 6 strips per driver (3 sets of 2 strips). You'd end up with a total of 12 strips and 2 separate lights.

I'll have a look into that driver . How many watts do you think the lights would put out and how many amps would each strip get ?

Another thought , there are 98 lm301b on a strip . On a quantum board there are 288 (i think) . Does that mean 3 of these strrips is a little better than a quantum board . My only thought is the bin codes might be shit.

I can get heatsinks that the strips fit to .
 
Does the 4300ma get devided by the number of strips its running ? And then looking at the table i can tell what watts its producing .

For example .
4300ma split between two strips would be 2150ma each and so around 40 watts per strip ? Or split over 4 strips making 1075ma and 21watts from each strip .

Quite interesting, LM301B are top shelf diodes! You should post in the LED section. I don't recognize those strips at all, strange dimensions. Need more info. Price?
 
If heatsinks aren't the problem. Then do your thing man.

If they're connected in parallel, the current gets divided between each strip.

And yes, you're correct in your calculations. This only happens if they're all connected in parallel though.

Ive spent a week watching you tube videos and i decided the lm301b is the way to go , so i started trying to find the best deal . The only place i found in the uk selling them is diyleduk ,selling quantum board with heatsink and driver for £170.
Thats 288 lm301b . I found the strips on a German website . 98 x lm301b for £13 .

If i get one more like i can post a link

DIYled also sells strip builds, using H _influx strips that have Lm301b and the strips seperatly, you can also find Q series strips which use 301b,
You will have to check out ledgardener.com for part numbers.
What price can you get the LRS drivers?

I might be wrong but I think the strips only use top bin diodes. @Randomblame would know for sure.
Then again that might only be the case for sellers like digikey ect

Hey, Corey!
Yeah, with F-strips it was the exact same S6/A1 bin. With Q-series one should get the same LM301b like on QBv2 but with the H-influx I'm not sure. They maybe use only the 2nd best flux bin on H-influx. There are still the same mistakes in the calculator for 3000, 3500 and 4000°k LM301b's and therefor its hard to say. Q-series 2ft strips are for sure top bin but have only half that much diodes(40). You need twice as much strips compared to H-influx L06 strips(88) but they also cost only half that much. So end price is a wash. And L06 would still have 8 diodes more, so even with a lower bin efficiency could be almost the same. Its realy hard to say which one would be better.
In doubt, I would take those who cause less wiring effort.

Samsung horti strips are also available soon. Its basically an H-influx double row but with the new LM301h and a 3rd row of deepreds. One could mix them 1:1 with warmwhite L09 H-influx strips (same dimensions) to get a more indoor siutable spectrum. That would work pretty well and you could reach efficiency levels of +2,6μMol/J easily.

Pretty nice strips. 10 more diodes compared to H-influx L06 and they cost less. So winner-winner chicken dinner. Get them, mount them one an alu sheet and fire them up. Each 20v meanwell driver would work for parallel connections. 1050mA (~20w) seems the sweet spot(190lm/w). 12 strips in parallel and an HLG-240H-20(12,5A) would work and each strip would run with ~1040-1050mA. 190lm/w means ~2,65μMol/J. Max. would be ~280w probably.

Edit:
And its the highest flux and the lower voltage bin available. Same like they use on their Zeusboards. As soon as LM301h is widely available they will get an update.

Thanks for all the info .id like to understand more about how the drivers work . Is that hlg 240h the thing to use and why ? . Is parallel wiring the way to go to . I had been thinking wiring in series would be easier and simpler . But i couldnt work out what driver to get and how many id need.
