When to re-pot/transplant plants?

Hi guys, just wondering what size i should be replanting these?
I'll be re-potting into 19L/5 Gal fabric pots and finishing in them.
The big one has roots coming out the bottom, quite a few and the other 2 have a few.
They're all 60-100mm high, really short and bushy.
The containers are 90mm wide, 120 deep.

If you plant now in your large container it will take a while before they start really growing. Roots need to find boundaries.

Oh really? What if I let them grow out a bit in these containers, like a week or so then transplant into 19l, I don't have any pots around 10l or in between.

Go to a 1 or 2 gallon next and then the 5 gal. Two transplants for most photoperiods

Okay, ill go grab some 6l containers and try that.

When they grow wider than the pot. Usually a good rule of thumb. Late is better than too early.

This is only what i do, if I water the plant and with-in 24 hours the medium is dry its time to transplant. I go from a solo cup to a 1 gallon then when the same applies i go to a 3 gallon then 5 then 10 then 15 etc.

I went and got some 6L pots and transplanted them today, all as wide if not wider than the pots they were in.
I kind of went off how much i was watering them more than anything as to when i transplanted, i was beginning to need to water them every day, so i guess that's time to pot up.
They all transplanted easily and the soil didn't fall to bits in my hands but there wasn't a huge amount of roots on the smaller ones but the big one had a lot.
Hopefully i didn't do it to early, surely it can't be as bad as leaving it late?
