Lighting for a 3x3

I've been outdoor growing for a couple year. But now that legalization has come into effect here in canada I'm shifting to indoor.

I have a 39x39 tent I was originally planning on just tossing in 315cmh and calling it good which would cost me less the $350 to light. But the more time I spend researching I keep getting pulled towards qauntaum boards. Which are hard find a supply for here in canada outside of hlg.

My budget is around $500 for lighting. Soo question is would a 260w qb v2 kit be enough to get started? It'll run me $450 for the kit. And add a second 260w kit down the road? Or would 2x 260w be over kill for a 39x39?

Or save up a little more and just get a the hlg 300w v2 which is $780cdn. A little more then I'd want to spend. Or just go ahead with my original and just use the cmh 315 which would be the cheapest route. But I'd rather make the best choice now. Then regret my decision down the line.

When I initially heard about the 96s that was what I had in mind also. But after seeing what people have done with them I think you would need another puck to properly light a 3x3 so that brings you up to $400. Still not bad..

Looking at the optic lamp ppfd Idk how they can say that can light a 3x3. It's overkill in the center and then dark ass edges/corners :(

Yeah I’ve never owned optic 4 but I’ve heard good enough things about their lights. Just giving some options around the price range.

My personal choice would be the timber vero kit, the 96v2, or the chilled pucks

Why not just go for the 4xQB132 with a driver you can get that setup for under 200 if you really needed.

It would be a nice lamp but idk if it would be enough for a 3x3..

6 on the 320 would be money though.. doesnt look like theyre available tho

I second this it's cheaper and better than cmh. You won't have a perfectly even canopy but that doesn't matter that much you can always train your plants to fit your light. All the even canopy hype is from when led weren't more effecient than hps the only benefit was uniformity now that led has more output the even canopy isn't as important.
