Hey @Randomblame, what are your thoughts on 3days of lights off at the end?
I was thinking it’s bs, thinking plants benefit more from photosynthesis than extended darkness, but someone mentioned to me they’ve seen research indicating better terpene profiles with no far red in last several days..,

Day 67 of ?: Second day of 4’ agromax uva-b w/ reflector 30 min/day. Glad i didn’t bump time further, seein some slight damage on highest tops. Will back off to 15 mins bs total if damage continues beyond mid-week.

Two strong pistil flushes earlier, now onsey twosey on the tops, still pretty heavy below, prob some light and uv stress, gonna reevaluate uvb exposure time mid-week...

On some of their many, many strains they have long, flowery descriptions; on most they have zilch.
I wish, for all their strains, they would provide:
Sativa-dom, indica-dom
Height descriptor
Yield descriptor
Flowering period length
And offer them feminized.

Yeah, I also don't see how this could be beneficial..!? Lower temps..? Less dried out trichomes..?
I reduce my ambient temps anyway in the last two weeks and try to finish them with as low temps as possible while maintaining at least 75% of the light. Colder temps have much more effect and really prevent trichomes. A few days with lights off would maybe do the same but only for a few days compared to ~2 weeks and you risk getting bud rot.
Have you seen the vidio about SSH on the greenhouse website? They explicit recommend to reduce the ambient temps in the last few weeks to get her full potential.
My grow area is only 50x 28" and the whole light has 46x 24", btw.

Gotta love these lights! Not sure if this is uv, qb, supplemental reds, or all the above, but what’s going on trich-wise is more than due to strain.
Here are what might be considered “larf”, 12-18” below canopy tops, not getting direct light exposure...hard and sugar-drenched....i’m impressed:

Yepp, trichomes are already better with LED and bud quality anyway. And the added blue and UV makes it even better...
The whole blue/UV range has beneficial effect on trichomes, aroma and smell and the immune reaction from UV helps plants staying healthy by producing more antioxidants.
With acetylsalicylic acid(2 aspirin or some willow extract) one can trigger an immune reaction too .. Makes sense for sick-looking plants but without UV it has no effect on trichomes. It only helps to activate self-healing powers.
I usually found the most impressive looking buds just below the tops in the 2nd row.

The uv is so energetic, seems to even get into darkest corners under canopy...

Yepp, only intensity gets lower. Pretty sure you still get measurable UVB output 1m away from these bulbs. Tested them yesterday with sunglases to protect my eyes but even with I would not directly into the light.
It immediately smells somehow "electric" just like the smell you can recognize from a working tesla coil.
