Seems like you guys are running 2.5x2.5ft tents so need about 200w (give or take) if either strips or qb’s.

2 of these http://vi.raptor.ebaydesc.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemDescV4&item=192509696799&category=178989&pm=1&ds=0&t=1538980018000&ver=0

With a Meanwell HLG-240H-54A (I’d use a hlg-240h-54B and wire a potentiometer for more control over the dimming. A series drivers only dim to 50% but have the potentiometer built in) wired in series. Run them at about 75%ish. They’ll need a heat sink so I’d mount them to a sheet of aluminium plate or buy the heatsinks to match the boards if your feeling rich.
Ok professor. 600 real watts of LED QB in a flower tent. (note the flower part please). With all links if you have the time and patience.

Looks good hope it keeps your temps down. I’m always stay way from active intakes because I always worry it’ll overpower my extraction and bypass my filter.
I have a 25cm *extraction and the intake is 20 so it should be right. I don’t really know. Hubby’s a sparky and aircon install/tech so this area I leave to him.

U should insulate the steel walls or something maybe idk maybe would help in summer
Will help keep temps stable in winter as well. I’d double up and start with silverwrap from Bunnings and then batts (I like the wool ones because it doesn’t burn, and doesn’t itch as much)

Technically 2 QB equivalent boards. But yeah. That setup would run a 2.5x2.5ft space no problem. Could be done with genuine QBs but I’d guess it’d up the price.

Edit: would flower a 2.5x2.5 space. For veg you could run 50% current maybe even less (I’d set it with a watt meter measuring the draw from the wall)

So I just googled some of these lights you fellas are talking about and fuck me swinging those qbs are expensive.they kind of look like the old Chinese led boards. Are cobs still good ? I was looking at those viparspectras again but it seems I would be linched and that colour would do my head in. It seems that more research in led grow lights have come to conclude that red and blue are not as efficient as white light am I correct?

Pretty much. QBs are mostly expensive if your buying them in kits. But also most use significantly less power than their hid counterparts so the savings come from running them not buying them. COBs are still a thing (from the little I’ve looked at them recently the vero’s Go alright) buy most manufacturers are starting to phase out production in favour of the smaller surface mounted diodes like the qb’s and strip lights.
