can a clone become a mother?

my question is simple if anyone could answer, i really appreciate it.
if my mother plant becomes to big or tall in my grow room, can i use a clone of that mother and let it grow to become the new mother and then go ahead and flower grandma?

If you have a choice of moms, clone them all (being careful to keep track of which clones came from which moms), flower the moms, and then use the clones from the mom that turned out best and get rid of the others.

Im not sure you understood me or I'm just wrong. So he should take the clones and flower the mother before he knows that the clones take? I would wait on flowering the mom until I knew the clones were stable, sort of exactly what you said after me, not flower the mom and then take the clones, right? I hope we're on the same page now

OK, yea, I see what you mean now. I thought you were suggesting that he flower the mom before taking the clone. And, yea, I was assuming the clones root before flowering the mom. So, yea, I think we're in agreement. Apologies for any confusion.

I want to try and help answer your ??? but I'm having trouble following as to what you are actually asking.

Let's see you wanna top the soon to be clones from the mother before taking the cuttings from the MOM? I would suggest letting the clones root, and produce a couple of nodes before topping them, also whenver you top a plant, that is a method of cloning as well if I'm not mistaking, so yes the tops could be used as clones.....

also ive cloned monsters next to normals and actually some times my monsters take root faster its all in the amount of oxygen getting to the root base thats what ive found

Yes you can but its not desirable. From experience it makes the plants more susceptible to mold, pest and disease, the more you clone from clones. What I mean by this is, take a clone from a seed. Let's call this a F1 or first generation clone ....then your mama dies or you flower it like you said you would like to do. That clone/F1 can be used as a mother but F2's will have slightly less to fall back on as far as its immune system for mold and pest resistance. Now, if you were to clone that clone and make F3sF4sF5s and so on its going to continue to get worse. Eventually the bud structure itself will start to change and quality will diminish as well. As far as clone only strains idk, never heard of them. You can purchase seeds of og kush and uk cheese online. I can post a site that has them all if anyone's interested. I cut clones and have a nursery. I only give out F1 clones so my genetics are strong and will smell, taste and look like the strain is described to look both indoor and outdoor by the breeders themselves.

Before it's said, I know the post is very old but it's still up and knowledge which someone will stumble across and maybe I help them out with what I've learned...
I've only gotten clones to root from monster cropping them I tried in veg a hundred times and always ended up 9 out of 10 wouldn't take but as soon as I take one with pistols it's growing all over the place roots out the ass.. oh and half the work doing it. I just threw 2 in water for a week then some good old sand to see what would happen and mind you it's winter and 40 degrees outside but there you go 2 beautiful clones and I did it again 2 weeks later same thing both times 2 for 2... Kinda think the odds are better bc it's the plants last try at survival since she's in flower and about to be gone for good...just my 2 cents and add on to an old post... And here's a pic of one of them..
