Infrared supplementation for leds.

Anyone tried infrared led supplementation, hopefully in some kinda side-by-side? Im talking of real infrared, 850/950 nm, not far red, 730 nm.

Ive seen annectodal talk about helping flowering or budset. I also seem to remember @Growmau5 using a few infra red diodes on one of his DIY fixtures and having read that the buds looked like HPS buds, big and chunky, but not too sure.

Im looking at making some supplementary bars with photo red, far red and possibly infrared.

Looking at any particular IR diodes/product?

Gavita has huge amunts of IR, and is the reason you have to keep them 36-40 inches from the canopy.

You also should look into some Solacure Flower Power 34w UVA/B bulbs. Strongest made. 2 x 34w bulbs covers a 4 x 4 area, and is more than 20x more powerful than the most powerful Reptile Bulb.. The Arcadia Desert Dragon 54w bulb is lame vs this 1. Wear eye peotectionor it will burn your eyes completely out. Better yet don't enter when on. We usually run them 2/3 of the Light Cycle duration each day, or no more than 12 hours if you use 24 hours in veg.

Their website says 2 4ft fixtures with the bulbs covers 8x8? That doesn’t sound right to me tho unless maybe they are really high up? I am just wondering if I could get their flower power special 2 4ft fixtures for my 4x8 tent. According to their 8x8 coverage it should work but idk lol

The Super B T8 is recommended using 2 for every 1000w HID, and a 4 x 4 area. A 1000w Hortilux HPS EYE is recommend for a 4 x 4 area. This is 62.5w sq/ft.
This is what the guy told me. I spoke to him on the phone.

They do have other bulbs/fixtures that are more powerful than these but they aren't plant bulbs.

These people also make bulbs of Aging Wood, and Pig Tanning.
They make bulbs as powerful as 200w, but the super B is recommended 2 for each 4 x 4 and 1000w HID.

This thread is for supplementary infrared leds, theres several threads about additional UV, lets continue that discussion there.

Hey Jarvild, nice plants! Whats the details on the supplementary side?? How many watts of what diodes?
I have 3 bars consisting of 6 diodes on each bar ran by an LPC 35-700. 2 of these fixtures per light. The diodes are split as 10-photo reds, 10-red-orange, 5-far reds, 5 infra reds and 6 uv diodes for a total of 70 watts of supplementation.

More details on the build please!

Wow, nice setup! Supplemental side looks great, chunkier buds and less leaf.
Can you provide some details about the test?
How many watts of white light on each side? What spectrum? What are your average temps in your environment?
Is everything connected together or can you run infra red separately?

The supplemental side is 9-3k f-series strips ran by a 240H24B driver turned down to 190 watts with the supplement pulling around 80 watts from the wall. The right fixture is a mix of 3k and 3.5k ran by another HLG240H24B ran at full power (268 watts from the wall).
My test aren't conclusive as I haven't done a true side by side with the same number of plants spread over the same area.
All the supplemental diodes are wired in series and are not adjustable. I just swap diodes out to play with the spectrum's. Temps in my room range from 73-77 degrees f.
I will likely not do anymore testing of spectrum's till next spring as I already had to hang my Gavita DE back up in the room for added heat.

Wow, very nice test. With the watts being more or less the same its quite telling. The buds on the supplemental side looks definitely better, and yeah, they have a slight hps look totthemo Bet IR helps with those low temps. This is what i was looking for.

Thanks for the info. Could you please detail what you ordered and from where to build your supps?
