Some people reckon hollow stems are a trait of drug type plants,Shantibaba has that as one of his criteria when choosing males to breed with

I have heard that hollow stem with a male is a good thing too. I’m guessing it’s something to do with how the plant grows, more vigorous then other males

i have read hollow stems means it is less related to the hemp producing varieties which have solid stems apparently. fucked if i know. i have had killer plants with both so i dont pay it much mind. people just look for patterns in anything really

Hollow vs thick stems really just depends on the environment you're growing in. A lot of tropical sativas have hollow stems 'cause they need to be able to bend like crazy to withstand monsoons and shit. Something like an afghani will have really thick solid stems to be able to hold the weight of the dense buds otherwise they'd flop everywhere which is a problem a lot of hybrid growers run into when you have massive thick buds but lanky hollow stems

Deficiencies can also cause stems to become hollow.

I've heard gd and bad bout hollow stems but as far as I know this is a first for me with a hollow stem.
