Trump gave an AMAZING speech at the UN

I was amazed but not in a good way.

I laughed with the rest of the world too.
I agree with Trump that globalization is a bad thing, but not for his reasons. It's a threat to the sovereignty of all nations and enables only the capitalist elite. It's a shame that an otherwise benign action which could be used for peace is used to line pockets at the cost of everyone else.

"The existence of price discrimination between domestic and export markets generally indicates the presence of a market distortion in the home market, such as import barriers, a monopoly or cartel, or some combination of these factors that gives domestic producers the ability to maintain domestic prices at a level higher than export prices.

Under such circumstances, dumping is a mechanism through which competitive outcomes are determined, in effect by the distortion itself, not the relative competitiveness of individual producers. In the short run, dumping enables protected firms to run their facilities at higher utilization rates than would be economically feasible in an open market, giving them a major cost advantage unrelated to their comparative cost competitiveness.

Over the long run, dumping can deter investment in the market where it is occurring and, conversely, may well foster increased investment in the protected market. Over time, through such dynamics, dumping may permit an initially less efficient (but protected and cartelized) industry to displace an equally or efficient competitor, that is, not benefiting from a protected home market."

There are two kinds of markets. Those that are free (meaning voluntary unimpeded trade) and those that aren't.

Tariffs etc. are a form of protectionism that when used in the same sentence as "free market" become a tangle of contradiction designed to stimulate emotion and dupe the useful idiots.

I'm talking about dumping, not tarrifs, etc.. How do you prevent corporations from practically giving away their product until the local market gives up, other than throwing them out by force?

Maria ain't too happy about dumping.

I find anti globalists like old world China as well as other countries who shut off open borders don't really understand history. China's language is quite different due to isolasionism. Imagine a country where each "clan" has it's own rules. Like ours. Cultures are meaningless. They allow racism to flourish. Our ancestors 100,000 years ago started to understand these things. Cooperation was paramount in our evolution. But at the time survival was the most important thing. Now we have time to theorize about religion while subverting others. I think it would be an interesting study to determine genetically who is predisposed to be alpha and not allow them to breed. The Earth would appreciate it.
