Hello again everybody, would somebody have a look at the pics below of this baby moby dick and possibly offer some advice please, i have found the tips of her leaves losing colour yesterday evening and now theres a whitish lining along the edges of the second set of leaves. Germinated in germination mix then moved directly to canadian peat/peat moss mix, no nutes yet, 5 days in peat now. Thank you in advance for your time

Peat is low pH, you have to use lime with it. Did you use dolomitic lime in the mix? What is the mix's pH?

I had burned tips like that on my seedlings. Turned out my medium had to much nutrients for my seedlings at that stage. I switched to a seedling soil i bougth at the local gardner. Its been smooth sailing ever since. Not sayin that this is Your issue. But those tips look like mine :P

You have a slight nute burn ... from medium ... ADD NOTHING .

Give her only some watering , it will acclimate ON ITS OWN. It rooting out and has its first tue set .
Even a little mist of water to her once in awhile .

This when growers throw shit at it when none is needed. Your medium is a little hot for seedlings but it can still be fine .

also what are the temps, what are the lights, how close are they and how much are you watering? If it is nutes, a teeny tiny bit of Alaska fish fertilizer mixed in a little water works for me.

well nevermind fertilizer I guess Budz recognizes the look. I was thinking pete wouldn't have nutes in it but maybe yours does. I don't recognize that look so he probably right. But yeah check out your water and pH, etc too.

Ok from the top the peat we acquired was already ph balanced so we didn't put any dolomitic lime.

Our lights are currently 400 true watts suspended 65cm above the babies at a constant room temp of 25° C.

Budz i will give them a distilled water treatment this morning and keep on track with an update if anything deteriorates.

No bugs problems that I have seen but will give them a good look with a magnifying glass this morning too.

It's just odd cause we have dj short blueberry, cinderella99, the church and big banger growing same setup but no issues lol

Thank you all i appreciate the help and advice

If this is nute burn then you should try to narrow it down to which nutrient is at a surplus...and most importantly, don't add more nutes if that's what's killing your plant/s. If its primarily new growth that's being effected then its one of the mobile nutrients. If the discoloration is primarily on the bottom/older leaves then its effected by immobile nutrients. I'm still in the process of reading about this stuff but there's a few interesting articles you can find via google, maybe they could help!

Mobile nutrients are nitrogen in the form of nitrate, phosphorus (P) in the form of phosphate, potassium(K), magnesium (Mg), chlorine (Cl), zinc (Zn) and molybdene (Mo). Calcium (Ca), sulfur (S), iron (Fe),boron (B) and copper (Cu) are immobile.

Edit : I'm still fairly new to growing so there's a chance I could be wrong. Probably better if you just research it haha. Cheers and Good Luck!

Funny, I looked up Moby Dick and it says it loves nutes. Guess not at this young stage.

Wooooooah.
Way too many suggestions for a damn seedling.

OP said it's in a peat moss mix which leads me to think it's a soilless medium and being in canada a lot of us use a tomato and veggie medium call pro mix. It has basic nutes to start your seedlings off and I've never had an issue using it.

I've had slight nute burn but it all depends on the strain and lighting.

My advice? Do nothing but continue to water when it needs it. Make sure the light isn't too close or strong? I don't see stretching so it's at a good distance per say.

At this stage they are delicate and over loving them; especially as a new grower will always do more harm then good.

Leave it alone and watch her, if she gets worse then come back.
