The soil mix looks dense and I dont see any perlite or drainage material.
Plants grow this way when roots are stifled, blocked or too wet consistently.
I know you said you water when dry. But how dry? I like to see a moisture probe meter show dry range 3/4 down the pot before watering.
Many times the tip few inches can be dry but the bottom soaked.
Ribbed curled down leaves and light green with necrosis starting from the bottom like Npk deficiencies is typical symptoms.
