i don't think he is....could be wrong...he doesn't strike me as a hypocrite.....again, could be wrong....i've never claimed to be any kind of political expert, so i don't know everything all the candidates have done, or the implications of it all. but i do try to inform myself as well as i'm able about the ones that i have to vote for or against. apparently i'm not immune to being influenced by the media, even though i make an effort to watch varied, unbiased sources.
to be perfectly honest with you, the only thing i find more boring than sports is politics, but politics is important enough to at least make an effort to understand. unfortunately, the more i understand, the less i like the whole thing.

I come here to learn how other people are thinking. Your mixed messages and feelings about politicians isn't uncommon and yet, I don't understand. So I keep pestering you for insight. Like now. I'm just trying to understand.

honestly, i don't care if the trump economy is the best in the history of the planet, if we have to have trump to get it. other things are more important than making rich fuckers richer.
like not destroying the environment, so we all have a place to live, and aren't a lot of very poor and very rich corpses.
like encouraging the arts and sciences, instead of trying to choke them to death, because that's where all the things we're enjoying now came from...of course, i heard the Amish are working on a wireless horse.....
like not building a culture of isolation, fear, and hate.......
of course, if you don't care about anyone but yourself, don't care that you're dooming the future of the entire race, don't care that we're poisoning the environmental niche we occupy....then yeah, he's doing a great job, keep it up....fuckface

i never said how i expected a buddhist to act, you're assuming that's what i expect. i expect a buddhist to be slightly reserved, but not a complete pacifist. i expect a buddhist to be polite, but not servile. i do not expect them to speak in Confucian platitudes. in short, i expect them to be decent human beings. and that's about all i expect from them, as i don't know that much about it.

you seem to have your own "expectations" of me....and apparently they aren't that hard to meet. sorry to screw up your expectations, i know that can be unsettling.

And that's all I expect in return. I pretty much feel like you do. At times I feel frustrated like anyone. But not to the point I'd go on a shooting spree.

For all my life I've ignored them when they did that. I told myself I'm the better person. But ever since Trump they've used that as an excuse to double down against anyone they disagree with.

About a year after Trump, they still got worse. I dislike what he does like anyone here for the most part.

I just remembered 20 years ago my first visit to the GA area. My friends neighbors was a clansman and he had a porch monkey. What a giant douchebag. My friend had to keep on the straight and narrow because he had 2 strikes but he came to blows with that guy in the past.

WTF a porch monkey. Perhaps monkeying around is a far worse saying than i first thought.

why cant you just shoot rapists pedophiles and clansmen ?

people don't know why you believe what you believe. they don't even know what you believe unless you tell them, and then they'll get it wrong.
one of the few real useful things i've learned is that you can't let other people control what you do. sometimes, a person wants you to attack them, they have some reason, it'll provide them an opportunity to attack back, it'll show everyone that you're the one that resorts to violence, it'll make you look like a hypocrite....
this doesn't mean there isn't a time for violence, just make damn sure why you're throwing that first strike, before you throw it...

The partisan nature of politics is at its most extreme. We are now at a point where a parties faithful can not accept anything the other party does. Regardless of the logic or benefit to citizens.

It will not improve. But there was a time when you could look at the opposition and say well they got that right. Now everything they do is wrong.

It is fucked up really.

The USA and Canada need more options. Republican vs Democrat or Liberal VS Conservative is about how it goes. Too bad there was no common sense approach and all of the parties have none. They are all interested in furthering their own political career and getting fat stacks of cash now or later.
