Will these clones make it?

I was gifted these clones about a week ago. They have great genetics and my friend that gave me these is an amazing grower.

They were in a hydro system before and I transplanted to soil. They haven’t done much (or any) vertical growth. I’m guessing the roots are attempting to establish themselves. There are small nodes but honestly I’m not 100% sure if those were there when he gave them to me.

Take a look at let me know! I want these ladies to do well.

If they root they will make it ...is my motto
I have had clones look pretty rough over the years , like those :D
I have long since switched to an aero-cloner and every cut roots in under 2 weeks with a 99% success rate
I need to stop doing 60 at once LOL

Could take 6 days to 2 weeks, could be more if you soil ph isn't right of the food isn't right, temp is wrong both air or dirt, ad nauseam.

I cannot get my clones in my areo cloner to root to save my life. not sure what I am doing wrong plain tap water from a well so no chlorine or anything. I have the sprayers set to 1 min on 5ish off and 2 air stones in the bottom. The leaves looks healthy and green still but NADA nub in site on the stems... I am on day 11.. some of the stems have even rotted off already and turned to straight mush. Oh also when I take the cuttings I use rooting get AND powder to coat the stem... my water is VERY VERY pure .. I have wondered if there are not enough trace elements in it to help with root stimulation possibly? when measured with ppm meter it measures less then 100 right out of the tap.

Try with another water source (distilled) instead of banging your skull for weeks on end. Did you check the ph of it? Are you scraping the outside of the stems with a razor blade lightly? Are you bottom heating?

Here is what works for me
I use distilled water (the manufacturer says not too):wall:
I use an Aquarium heater set at 78f
I never change that water only allowing for evaporation (a tiny bit of pool shock from time to time ) even with plants present
I use a 28 watt cfl
I never turn off my sprayers as it aerates my water if I did I would want a air supply (think Aquarium and stone )
And I give my cloner a dark cycle
I feel roots pop in dark cycle ...I have no citation for that , just my gut
When I think about cuts I don't want them freshly fed either two weeks in flower or skip a feeding and wait a week
I do dip in a cloning solution although the guy who schooled me on cloning swears he can clone with super glue and a cup of water LOL
If you follow this ...your success will go way up
TAP water made my cloner put out clones like the OP's
good luck :weed:

no bottom heating as the pump is inside the water and heats it plenty I think. I do have an aquariaum heater I could use but I think the water temp is good. I do also slightly scour the outside with a razor before dunking in the clone gel and powder. I have not been PHing the water as i was told that it should not matter because ph is for nutrient uptake and should not effect root development...I normally have such a green thumb and and grow anything from seed just fine but this damn thing... yes head pounding against a wall lol

My friend, you are me, 3 months ago. I built a home depot special cloner and had it in a window, hung a light over it, put a pump and a bubbler in there and tried it out.

Everything died.

I upgraded the pump to a big aquarium filter with a spray bar for more aeration.

Everything died.

I changed out the water using only water from my outdoor aquaponics system in which garden veggies root within days.

Everything died.

I added one of those pond misters that makes a fog using high frequency vibrations.

Everything died.

I checked the water temp, 78f, then I hung a temp probe over the top of the thing. 73 in the morning, seemed fine, then in the afternoon, when the sun was beaming in on it, 103!!!!

So I hung some shade up, calmed down the temps and today......

I have temp and humidity controllers for the space so that should be all good... and the only lights that have are 2 floro 4 ft tubes hung very high above them so as not to give them too much light or burn them..... and yeah I have a nice pump and I DID build this myself i have 2 aeration bars velcroed to the bottom of the rez as well to ensure enough air to the water....think I am going to try just replacing with distilled water next run if these ones dont turn out... Ill give them a few more days though and see what happens.

wouldn't hurt to change out the water now. I change 25% weekly. What clued me to my issue was hanging a temp probe over where the cuts were to get a canopy temp. Not saying it's YOUR issue, but you can rule it out real easily by placing a thermometer on top of your cloner. I was also operating under the assumption that because the rest of the room was fine, that the temps were fine for the bubbler too. I mean, it sounds like your setup is great, you're doing all the right things but there has to be something off. I was so stoked when I figured out my "one lil thing" that was keeping it from working. I chuck everything in there now! Lemon tree, cabbage, basils, loving it for more than just cuts. Hope you get to the same place.

One of my friends takes clones from his plants puts them in a cup of tap water ,and they all ways root.Cloning is pretty straight forward once you get passed fussing over them during the first few weeks. They only need Attension for first week after been took,Aloe Vera has rooting gel,or clone X .Mist them twice a day for first week with the lid on propagator, vents closed for first 24 hour. Then open them after that open them and after misting twice a day for a week once a day till rooted done, don't even check for roots for around 7/12 days ,if your rooting without a medium then they will root, has long has they look healthy on top the same all good. But do what you know works best for you ,me a old house lamp cheap propagator that cost a pound rock wool ,7/12 days rooted ,then into next sized cube.If I'm wanting to hold them back a bit,if not straight into coco on 1.1 ec for a week.

Ill pick up a sht ton of distilled water tonight and do a change out. thanks everyone for the info... sorry to the OP for jacking your thread lol

Will they make it? That depends on the grower. But from the picture they look like they'll survive.
